As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!
On September 7, 2013, Bryce Hager found the football bouncing his way in the Bears’ own redzone. What ensued was an entertaining, winding escapade down the field with a couple of good cuts and a trip to the promised land.
Hager returned the Buffalo quarterback’s fumble 91-yards for a touchdown to make the Bears’ blowout of the Bulls even worse. The scoop and score made it a 49-13 game, and the Bears would go on to win by a score of 70-13. It was one of the highest scores in Baylor history on a day where the offense and defense were both clicking.
The Bears amassed 452 yards through the air and 329 yards on the ground for a grand total of 781 yards and 9 offensive touchdowns. Those 9 offensive touchdowns are the second most in Baylor history, and the 10 total TDs tie the historic 2013 West Virginia game that ended in a 73-42 win for the Bears.
One other quick stat for you today:
The most rushing attempts Baylor has made as a team in a single game in program history was 91 at SMU in 1993. The Bears won that game 31-12 in Dallas and totaled 482 yards rushing.
