87 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #87 Kelsey Johnson

Kelsey Johnson, a tight end from Red Oak, Texas, was a part of Baylor’s 2022 signing class.

Johnson caught 33 passes for 483 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior at Red Oak High School. Johnson finished his high school career totaling 78 receptions, 1,314 yards, and 21 touchdowns. He was First-Team All-District as a junior in 2020 and was also named to the 2021 Academic All-State Second Team. Johnson was the No. 14 tight end in the country, according to ESPN, and was ranked a three-star prospect and the No. 72 player in the Lone Star State by 247. Johnson chose Baylor over Tennessee, Colorado, and Kansas.
