82 Days till Kickoff: Baylor’s #82 Cody Mladenka
As always, keep track of both the stats and roster countdowns in the Offseason Hub!
Cody Mladenka, a tight end from Conroe, was a part of Baylor’s 2022 signing class. At College Park High School, Mladenka was First-Team All-District in 2020 and 2021 and Second-Team in 2019.
Mladenka was a three-star prospect according to 247 and was ranked the No.199 player in Texas and the No. 92 in the country. While in high school, Mladenka also competed in baseball and threw the shot put and discus. He was Academic All-State in 2021 and chose Baylor over Yale, Rice, Air Force, and Houston.
Travis Roeder offered his insight on Mladenka and other 2022 signees in a series of articles back in December, but here is just some of what Travis had to say:
“He’s Baylor’s best bet to become a matchup-nightmare style TE, a guy you can split out wide and rely on to dominate smaller defensive backs. He’s not ever gonna be like those 5* TEs that run like WRs, but I think he’ll bring a very solid level of athleticism in what should be a very big frame. We are talking about a guy who should reach 255-265 pounds and be running in the low 4.7s. That’s a very good weapon in college.”
In case you were wondering, that frame is currently 6-foot-4, 235 pounds according to Baylor’s website.
