I felt like we needed to feed Freddie & Tristan more in the post. They both looked good scoring down low. It would have opened things up more for the guards also.

MBB: Baylor 61, Oklahoma 57 Postgame Thoughts
#1 Baylor (16-1; 6-0) beat Oklahoma (12-6; 3-3) in a hard fought game that the Bears controlled most of the night but were lucky to escape with a win thanks to a missed corner 3 by Austin Reaves. The Bears travel to Gainesville Saturday to take on Florida 1/25.
Observations
- Some nights you struggle. The Bears struggled to make baskets tonight in the second half but were able to remain in first place in the Big12 standings. The postgame podcast was also a struggle. We recorded it with Chris Fuentes and then I recorded one solo and both files ended up corrupted.
- Freddie Gillespie is a man of the people. 12 points and 15 rebounds. He is the difference between winning and losing in my view. He also played great defense on Kristian Doolittle (4-14 FGs; 8 points).
- Jared Butler had a game to forget- couldn’t buy a bucket tonight (2-13) and missed the front end of a one and one. This means, Jared will probably have a great game at Florida.
- Macio Teague, Davion Mitchell and Devonte Bandoo all made big plays at times.
- Great play off the bench from Tristan Clark and Matt Mayer as well. Clark is getting more and more comfortable out there.
- Vital with his normal great effort on the glass (8 rebounds).
- Bandoo was big with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
- Brady Manek is starting to play like an all conference guy for OU.
- Offense needs better flow but this team is tough and controls the glass (outrebounding OU by 10).
