Joey McGuire elects to stay at Baylor under new head coach Dave Aranda

Joey McGuire has elected to remain at Baylor despite contact from several major programs in the area, SicEm365 has learned. A candidate for the vacant head football coaching position that was filled by Dave Aranda late last week, the status of McGuire has been up in the air while he decided the next steps in his career. 

McGuire, the assistant head coach and defensive ends coach under former head coach Matt Rhule, will enter his fourth season as a Baylor assisnt in 2020. McGuire was the popular pick by Baylor players to fill the position. 

Garrett McGuire, McGuire’s son, will be a redshirt junior quarterback at Baylor in 2020.
