Former Texas A&M defensive lineman James Lockhart‍  (6-3, 260) will head up the road to Waco and enter the Baylor football program as part of Matt Rhule's first recruiting class, SicEm365 has confirmed.

2017 BAYLOR COMMITMENT LIST

Lockhart gave his commitment to the Bears after multiple conversations with the Baylor staff in recent days, including specifically Joey McGuire.

Originally of Ennis (TX) High School and part of the 2015 recruiting class, Lockhart was a four-star prospect and ranked among the top 150 prospects in the country. He held offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma and others before signing with the Aggies.

The former Army All-American will arrive at Baylor for the spring semester and participate with the Bears in spring practice. He will have three years of eligibility remaining to play two seasons and will be required to sit out the 2017 season due to NCAA transfer requirements.

During his two-year stay in College Station, Lockhart appeared in 16 games for the Aggies and totaled 12 total tackles with a single tackle for loss.

Lockhart was a high school teammate of current Baylor running back Terence Williams.

Lockhart totaled 367 tackles, 25.5 sacks and four forced fumbles at Ennis.

Under the Recruiting section, can a Transfers section be added? That will allow a place to keep track of players like James Lockhart and Anu Solomon, and if they are January enrollees, so we would know which year's 25-man initial counter batch they will count against.

Thank you.

If he couldn't find a spot on the Aggie defensive line, I would not get too excited. They were very average there at best.
