Baylor's Sean Muir retires from football, placed on medical scholarship
Baylor senior offensive lineman Sean Muir has opted to retire from the game of football due to multiple concussions during his career as a Bear, SicEm365 has learned. The latest concussion came in Baylor's final game of the 2016 season in the Cactus Bowl against Boise State.
Muir will finish his academic career at Baylor on medical scholarship.
Originally of Sydney, Australia, Muir was penciled in as starter at the center position heading into his final season. Muir played in nine total games during his three year career after redshirting his first year on campus in 2013.
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound lineman's brother Blake Muir was also a letterman for the Bears from 2014-2015.
With Muir sidelined, Baylor is down to eight returning offensive lineman with game experience for the 2017 season. Matt Rhule recently signed six high school offensive lineman in his first ever recruiting class.
