Future MLB - hopefully so. His forte is playing downhill and going side to side now - great closing speed. Backpedaling appears to be his weakest issue. Which makes sense given the dropfoot issue. Yesterday he was doing what we expected coming into this season before all the injuries. Coming in to spell folks. Next season is the year he needs to be on the field full time.

Really concerned about Lees ability to stay upright also. I think LB has to be an area we look at somewhere in the top of the draft. Finding an Edge rushing LB that can play wide so we can rotate the LBs would be fantastic. If Smith's foot doesnt respond completely in workouts pre-draft, then we have to look at MLB also.

BTW - how about Lael Collins? Two weeks of not practicing and comes into both games and does well. Hardly a peep from Olivier Vernon or JPP.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Carson Wentz will undergo ACL surgery "within a couple days," and Dr. James Andrews anticipates Wentz being sidelined 9-12 months.

Per Mortensen, Andrews hasn't spoken directly with Wentz, but the noted orthopedic specialist said expectations need to be tempered for ACL recoveries, saying repairs need 9-12 months. Wentz is almost certain to start next summer's training camp on active/PUP with a chance he misses the start of the season. The Eagles will roll with Nick Foles the remainder of the 2017 season.

Just a shame. ok, it really is awful but..............

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said K Dan Bailey has a minor hamstring injury.
It explains why the hyper-accurate kicker missed two field goals and an extra point against the Giants. Jones does not expect the injury to be an issue moving forward, but it is something to monitor. If he plays, Bailey will be a great option against the Raiders.

Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (back) is questionable for Week 15 against the Raiders. Smith will continue to play through injury after practicing on a limited basis this week. La'el Collins (back) is also expected to start despite being listed questionable.

Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick (back) has been ruled out for Week 15. Scandrick was always expected to miss at least two games with his back injury. The Cowboys also ruled out DL David Irving (concussion) and LB Justin Durant (concussion) for Sunday night's game.
