In Miller's 2018 way too early mock draft, he has a Dallas Cowboys slotted at the 26th spot in the first-round, and he has predicted they will draft defensive end Sam Hubbard, out of Ohio State. Below is his assessment of the Sam Hubbard selection for the Cowboys.
Quote:

"Drafting a defensive end without any in the off-field issues would be an upgrade for the Dallas Cowboys. Selecting one with the power and technique of Sam Hubbard would give them a legitimate rookie starter.

The 6'5, 265-pounder might not test exceptionally well for an edge-rusher, but his strength and ability to shoot through or around blockers at the line to make splash plays against the run and pass make him interesting as a weak- or strong-side defensive end.

The Cowboys have played loose with character-flag players, and the defensive line is paying for it now. Adding a high-character, high-impact defensive end should be a no-brainer."

Zeke could own the NFL by the time this is over
And he should. This self-righteous grandstanding by Roger Goodell (this is 99.9% on him, I guarantee it) and the NFL to reach an outcome they want--not based on evidence, but on their desire to look "tough" on domestic violence to the public--should cost them millions.

there were lots of irregularities in Greg Hardy's case too - including the gal kept coming back long after the alleged pushing on the guns on the bed thing. And texts. Lots of texts. But Hardy was ever the jerk. Not a good guy. Zeke seems to be the opposite from what the folks around him say.

NFL filed a motion to dismiss the federal case brought by the NFLPA in support of Ezekiel Elliott.

The NFLPA filed a petition to vacate Elliott's six-game suspension as well as requested a temporary restraining order last Friday. The NFL argues the Players' Association cannot seek relief from a decision which has yet to be made -- NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson has yet to decide on Elliott's appeal -- and the precedent set in Tom Brady's case means courts "have no business weighing the merits of the grievance (or) considering whether there is equity in a particular claim." Elliott plans to practice with the team on Tuesday in preparation for the Sunday Night opener, but there will certainly be many twists and turns in this saga before then.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ezekiel Elliott will play Week 1 if NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson does not hand down a decision before 4 PM EST on Tuesday.
Even if Henderson decides not to vacate the suspension before the deadline, Elliott has a hearing on Tuesday regarding the temporary restraining order filed on his behalf by the NFLPA. It is not a lock Elliott suits up against the Giants on Sunday night, but it appears likely.

Cowboys placed TE Rico Gathers (concussion) on injured reserve. He's can resume practicing in six weeks and playing in eight weeks, so he's out until Week 9 at the earliest. Gathers was a preseason sensation before suffering what is apparently a severe concussion, earning first-team reps in two-tight end sets alongside Jason Witten.

Dallas re-signed QB Kellen Moore. He was cut this weekend in a procedural move. Moore was outplayed by Cooper Rush in the preseason, but the Cowboys apparently value the veteran's presence in the quarterback room.

Cowboys and RG Zack Martin have broken off contract talks until after the season. It is a bit of a surprise after Dallas worked out new deals with LT Tyron Smith and C Travis Frederick at the same time in their contract cycles, but it is not a major concern. Martin is still under team control for two more seasons, and the two sides should be able to work something out in the spring.

Cowboys DE Tyrone Crawford (ankle) is expected to play Week 1. Crawford had to be carted off the field early in camp, but it ended up just being a sprain. "He's ready," Jerry Jones said. "He'll play Sunday night." Crawford recorded 4.5 sacks last season.

Yeah, the rumor was true...Rico on the 53 to get him to IR and then KLess comes back. Really can't fault it I guess.

Bills signed DT Cedric Thornton, formerly of the Cowboys. Thornton tanked as a Cowboy last year, and was let go at final cuts last weekend. Headed into his age-29 season, Thornton had been an asset against the run before last season. He could stick on the 53-man roster.

Just thinking, Paxton Lynch cant beat out Simien. Doubtful that he will. Dallas offered a lot to move up to take him before the Broncos grabbed him.

And Dallas also wanted to draft Connor Cook in the 4th round but the Raiders jumped them. Cook was just bumped to 3rd string by EJ Manuel.

God is good...

Suspended RB Ezekiel Elliott will play Week 1 against the Giants.
NFL arbitrator Harold Henderson upheld Elliott's six-game ban after Elliott's appeal process came to a close on Tuesday evening. Since the appeal wasn't settled before 4 PM ET on Tuesday, Elliott is eligible to play Sunday night. A ruling on his temporary restraining order is expected by Friday evening. That's the next critical step in this process. Week 2 is completely up in the air.

Great job too. Seems Judge was fully objective when it came to ALL evidence, not what was cherry picked by Goodell. If your tweet on irreparable damage holds up throughout this mess, Goodell and the NFL could be left holding a very large purse for Zeke and maybe even Jerry and/or the Cowboys

BTW - since Zeke was not an NFL employee at the time of the main event, he had been drafted by not signed (if I remember correctly), wouldnt that preclude those events from consideration?

Q - at that point, has he signed anything to join a union? Or had he signed something to become draft eligible which made him a member when he was drafted?

Off subject - As a former member of two unions, not a fan. One of these days, someone is gonna RICO Unions - and win... its gonna be spectacular!

I think him declaring for the draft, which implies consent, and then him being drafted which implies acceptance.

That said I'm not a lawyer.
