I love Thornhill and Hill but I think we can do better than Love as I am concerned about his health, durability, and frankly his effectiveness.

Speaking Monday, Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said the team remains hopeful of extending contract-year QB Dak Prescott before Week 1, but that his deal must be "team friendly."
"There's two sides to this," Jones said. "We've really never just gotten into the weeds in terms with Dak himself in terms of what his preference is. I know he's focused on winning and really getting as many players as he can out there working so we can have a great team next year." Translated, Jones' comments mean the sides are nowhere close to an agreement. The Cowboys also have Amari Cooper and Byron Jones going into the final year of their rookie deals. It is going to be a complicated offseason in Dallas.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reports Duke Johnson has requested a trade.
It is far from a surprise considering Johnson skipped the start of the offseason program, and it is understandable he would want out following the Kareem Hunt signing. Speaking at the league's annual meeting, new coach Freddie Kitchens pushed back on the idea the Browns would move Johnson, but this will likely force their hand. The Jets, Texans, Eagles, and Cowboys have all been linked with the running back.

Kinda reminds me of Terrance Williams. Hard comeback to the QB, hands catcher, falling down...

Guessing Willis wont be there in the 3rd. Not a lot of great to really good DTs in this draft. If both are there, doubtful either will be around at 90

I thought that too but I am starting to see quite a few mocks that have Willis there or Hill out of UCF. The same mocks have pretty much locked on Thornhill as the pick at 53 which would make me happy enough.

This is not good. Rotator cuffs are not the easiest to come back from. An OT may be in the mix for us in the draft. But a lousy draft for OTs

Cowboys RT La'el Collins is recovering from surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.
Collins will miss the entire offseason program but has vowed to be ready for training camp. It is unclear when Collins went under the knife, though it appears it was soon after the Cowboys' playoff run ended. It is a serious operation. A seeming steal after his tumble out of the 2015 draft, Collins has emerged as a starter but not an impact player for a Cowboys offensive line that has fallen off from its heyday.

Or Connor Williams goes to the position I think he is a more natural fit (RT) at and you have Su'a Filo take over at LG.

Why Collins waited to now baffles me unless he wanted to make sure he wasnt trade bait.
Was just about to speculate similar but move Collins back to OG where the 'punch' isnt quite a necessary as RT. Gonna be much harder for him to do unless he makes full recovery

Lawrence's operation is to repair a torn labrum, which is often lengthy and tricky. ESPN Dallas has reported he has a 4-6 month timeline. "I'll be ready for the start of the season," Lawrence said. "I'm not worried about it. It's just about getting (the surgery) over with." The reality is, there is a real chance Lawrence will not be ready until sometime in late September or October. That would make him a candidate for reserve/PUP.

Cowboys CB Byron Jones (hip) could open training camp on the active/PUP list.
Jones will miss all of OTAs after offseason hip surgery. His camp status is questionable, but the Cowboys are confident he'll be able to avoid setbacks. Even if Jones opens Camp on active/PUP, he should be ready for Week 1.

Interesting article on Byron Jones...this quote really caught my eye:

Quote:

This is why I think Byron Jones will not be re-signed. And I think Dallas will try to re-sign Anthony Brown instead. Jones and Collins departure should set the Cowboys up with two third round compensatory picks. If Quinn and Cobb have good years, it is conceivable that Dallas could receive four compensatory picks in the top four rounds in 2021.

Can't argue a lot with this. They will sign key players and have to cut ties with others. To be honest, its a sign that our roster is really improving in talent
