Still not good

I don't think this incident will factor into whether he makes the team. If he can play, JJ will have no problem keeping him on the team. Heck, the Cowboys knew about the arrest before final cuts last year, and they kept him nonetheless. But if he can't beat out the 3rd TE (likely Dalton Schultz) then he's gone, not because of this incident, but because he can't help the team.

Yes, that Lucky Whitehead, the king of the jet sweep who wasunceremoniously and perhaps undeservedly dismissed from the Dallas Cowboys during the 2017 offseason. Whitehead, who hooked on with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the 2019 season, had himself a game on Thursday night, hauling in seven catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns in leading his team to 28-21 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos.

For those unfamiliar with the CFL, there are a few differences from NFL football that lend themselves to speedy players like Whitehead. First, the field is a bit bigger than in American football, at 110 yards long and 65 yards wide, as opposed to 100 yards by 53 yards in the U.S.. Second, each team has 12 players on the field rather than 11. And third, there are only three downs per set of downs rather than four. Add this up, strategy calls for more passing, and often more deep throws to guys with wheels. Insert Whitehead.
