I would almost rather the game not be televised at all and be at 6 PM than be televised on a streaming platform and be at 11 AM. Atmosphere and energy of an evening game compared with an 11 AM game is night and day, and we will need all the help we can get in that Utah game

11AM start for Long Island makes no sense at all. Any ESPN+ telecast should default to 6PM in Sept-Oct.

Well..the heat from the depths of Hell will be an advantage for us....I doubt Utah has played a game over 80 degrees except for maybe a random trip to Tempe.

Yikestown population Utah for an 11am early September kick. I looked back and this current Utah roster has never played a game in temps above 90 degrees.

They played @Florida last year in the low 80's and they were gassed in the 4th.

I'm fine with the early time for Utah. It will be a 10am Utah time kickoff, so their pregame prep will start way earlier than they are used to.

But why in the name of God's green earth are we playing a streaming game in a timeslot set for regular broadcast?? TV timeslots are 11am, 2:30pm, 6/6;30/7pm, with a late 9:15pm west coast window. Last year we had 2 streaming games: Albany in early September at 7pm and OU in early November at 2pm. Wondering if this is arising from the Athletic Dept, where Mr. Hair Gel and Sport Coat thinks he might be currying favor with ESPN, or whether this comes from Pat Neff Hall, so that it doesn't conflict with some Family Weekend Singspiration Chapel service scheduled for Saturday evening.

big 12 has multiple games on espn+ that day. Espn likely picked the least attractive match up and asked for it to be at the 11am slot on espn+. Any thought that our AD would pick that time on purpose is just being stupid

11 am is way cooler than 6 pm in September, and at least for where I sit (student side), I'll still be in the shade for most if not all of the game with an 11 am start.

Long Island may be a tad early for me to make. I suspect there will be a lot of that going around.

For me to be up and out of the house by 9:30 on Saturday takes something interesting.

& then you would have at least 1 less football game, multiple mbb, majority of wbb, basically all vball/soccer/baseball/softball/acro games not televised & millions less a year in tv revenue.

Well, let's just say that UTSA's first three games are on Fox and ESPN: no streaming. Let that sink in

Games that start at 11am may be "cooler" at kickoff than 6pm starts, but overall 6pm games are much less hot.

Actually it's their first 2 & a Nov game. 1 of those first 2 are against a P5 opponent, just like ours against a p5 is on reg TV & other is vs army. Their conf also has no espn+ contract that guarantees 1 game minimum on espn+ to my knowledge as well as army is a bigger draw than TX State. Ur comparing apples to oranges to make urself feel worse about having more than 1 game on espn+ despite having 2 each of the last 2 years including vs OU last year. Espn+ isnt a bad thing like some of yall try to act like it is

Pretty much this. Anyone that has cut the cable cord and enjoys sports has ESPN+. Really not a big deal

Some of the things I don't like about sports on streaming compared to TV is that the rewind and fast forward functions are not as precise and kind of wonky and also flipping between multiple games is not nearly as easy.

I'm sure over time that will improve.
