We have all seen fans like stranger before. We have sat by them in the games. They constantly question the play calling, they question the game plan, they question the QB play, and say negative things about players.

Yet, the majority of them haven't a clue about the X's and O's about football. Never went through offseason practice, nor been in a film room. Comments like why do we keep running it up the middle, it never works. Well, we do that to keep DL lineman and linebackers honest. It sets up passing game and keeps DL from pinning their ears back and going after the QB. The play itself is not bad, the sequence of when it is called could be questioned.

When the QB is running for his life and being criticized by fans for his play. The casual fan would never realize that the OL is not ready to protect the QB, or the possibility of WRs running wrong routes, or take into count the limited time the QB has in the pocket to make a decision, what he saw and did not see in the film room. But, they can sit in the stands and yet think it is just that easy to make the right play with no regard that the QB on the field has fast grown ass men chasing him. Four freaking seconds to make a decision, not sipping on a Dr. Pepper.

With that being said, the posters that wrote of Rhule after a small sample of games must have thought he inherited the 2015 Baylor Bears and was taking us down a dumpster fire path with that talent. Yes, he had some good players on that team. Yes, we should have never lost to Liberty. But, when he got to Baylor he inherited 3-4 OL period! Let that sink in. TEs transitioned to OL, Incoming Freshman we're forced to action. Our line play on both sides of the ball were not P5 ready. But to the casual fan it was all coaching. Our success now is with same coaching, better players, more depth, and much improved line play on both sides of the ball. We are not there yet, for better times are still ahead of us when it comes to line of scrimmage play.

When it comes to coaching, here are what fans should be concerned about:

1) When players start quitting on their coach. These Baylor CMR teams have never quit. Even in 2017 they played to the end. Thus, they have now won 4 games over the last 12 played on game ending drives.

2) When player behavior becomes a distraction to the team. Rhule does not let this happen. They are shown the door, team is greater than one individual or they are disciplined.

3) Poor Recruiting-Rhule has checked this box from the word go (See 2017 and 2018 classes with probation and 1-11 over his head). Both in identifying players that can be developed and convincing them that Baylor is the place to be and Baylor can and will be elite.

4) Development of those players - Example: Chris Miller - he is on Mel Kiper's big board. Let that sink in. Who would have thought Baylor would have a safety last year on Mel Kiper's big board.

It is when a coach can't recruit, loses his players, runs an undisciplined team, and shows no development of players is when the coach has to go.

Remember patience is a virtue that the OP probably wishes he had a little more of now.
