Regarding history of our helmets (including how they were adorned) this is interesting:

The more modern Baylor BU has that little notch in it. Other than that, the other guys literally copied and pasted the original BU and changed the color.

The new one looks idiotic ... like all of our branding.

Lived in Boston in 2014, wore my Baylor stuff all the time. We lived in a touristy area of the city and so many people asked if my interlocking BU hoodie was Boston U or Binghamton. Only tourists from the south or Midwest asked me if it were Baylor

I travel to New England for work regularly. Whenever I wear my interlocking "BU," I most frequently get asked where I got the St. Paddy's themed Boston U gear.

Maybe we should start a Twelfth Midget tradition and copyright that.

I disagreed with Lilley, and i disagree with taking Boston Univ to court.
There are numerous schools that have the same first letters and the co-exist.
Examples are U of Texas, and U of Tennessee., Okla State U and Ohio State U, and Oregon State U.
It is silly to get the courts involved.

It's not the letters, it's the trademarked logo. Texas and Tennessee, OSU and tOSU - the logos don't look alike.

Boston U is straight-up copying Baylor's trademark.

I understand what you are saying. However Both Baylor and Boston U have used the interlocking logo for years. I don't think it is worth the trouble to litigate the issue. Boston and Baylor use different colors so they are different in that respect.

This isnt about having the same initials. It's about the same identical logo but in a different color.

Doing some research on it Baylor and Boston had an agreement on using the BU initials, and using the interlocking BU is a violation of the agreement. Baylor contacted Boston in 2021, but Boston's interpretation is that they can sell it and use it for club teams. They just can't use it for varsity sports. Baylor is asking the courts to ban Boston's use of the interlocking BU, destroy any merchandise, and cover legal fees

It seems to me that Baylor is being reasonable in its request and this could/should be settled out of court.

Probably can't do anything about it since Boston is in a foreign country.

School started by and named after a slave owner suing the alma mater of Martin Luther King, Jr. Nice look.

BTW, Bob Jones Universeity almost sued Baylor in 2014 when the football scanal hit, since essentially Baylor had become BJU.

Chortle, Chortle. Even though we have tried to cleanse ourselves of the past by removing statues from campus, we still have the big 'un sitting there...and there he shall stay.

Just glad we didn't :essentially" become BFU.
