And we agreed to a 7 year contract.

I just hope Mac Rhoades isn't approached by somebody selling beach front property in Nebraska.

And here I thought Sumlin saw the aggys coming............

I like how that number is baselessly thrown around as a matter of fact, please show us his pay stub and/ or contract.

Forbes Magazine reported a fraction of that but named no sources, so if you can provide sources other than the anti-rhule echo chamber that'd be great.

If you consider the cost from the fallout, it is much more

Okay. The "Forbes article" is completely wrong. People need to stop mentioning it.
That was based off of his Temple salary. Forbes has these unpaid contributors just to fill up space and add clicks. They are no different from Bleacher Report writers in that regard. This isn't as if a Forbes staffer wrote it after digging into past tax returns or submitting an FOIA request.

It's as credible (arguably more credible) as parroting 4 million plus without anything to back it up.

CoachesHotSeat dot com has Rhule listed at a 3.5 million a year salary.

Ooooh, and he is #15 on the hot seat chart. Which means he probably paid someone a lot of $$$ to put 14 other coaches ahead of him.

Whatever it is, the buyout isn't too high considering he is an existential threat to the entire athletic program.

Let's be real. There is no salary that would seem acceptable for 1-10.

We're not paying Rhule for on field results. We aren't playing Rhule for player development.

We are paying him to keep the program off ESPN. We are paying him to create the perception of caring about football at a self professed not an institution of football.

If they understood the thinking of the regents as exemplified by mike victor, they wouldn't have him on the list at all.

We could have paid someone 60K a year to do that. I think his seat is actually hotter than anyone thinks. He has completely thrown the BOR under the bus and back the as focal point of incompetence in all of this. I'm sure they aren't happy about that.

That pathetic crowd yesterday and the noticeable missing tailgates I'm sure sent a message that didn't help matters. I'm not saying he is going to be fired next week, but I bet plans are being made for about 53 weeks from today if we aren't bowl eligible.

The thing is, paying someone 60k a year doesn't generate the perception of caring like 4 million a year does. 60k a year only provides objective proof that we don't want to be an institution of football.

Like I said above, there is no acceptable salary for 1-10.
If you pay a P5 salary for 1-10, you have overpaid.

If you pay less than a legitimate P5 salary, then you went cheap and got what you paid for.

One more time...there is no acceptable salary for 1-10.

You can say that again! Well, I guess you already did.

Considering there are probably volunteer Pop Warner that would be 1-10 (soon to be 1-11) or better with this team, it makes your point even more valid.

we're paying over 8M collectively for this crap. 8M per win.

How much of the salary is simply over payment to just get someone here that has any track record of success anywhere, especially if they are young? What good coach would have wanted, really wanted (not the Chad Morris, Babers, Gundy etc. garbage spouted on these boards that were either pipe dreams of posters or plays for higher salary at their own institutions) to come here with the risk that even more fallout would occur after they signed on, making the task truly career threatening?

I don't think the pay was for any particular season, but for rebuilding a program that was destroyed by the administration letting garbage go on they could have stopped in its tracks long before the football program became the media's whipping boy. And then exacerbated by the highly paid assistants we had last year that obviously didn't give a **** for their players and fans. How deep did the mental mindset of this program fall into the ditch? The Rhule "experiment" outcome should reveal itself in this year's recruiting and what the team does next season. That should be far enough removed from the pits of the last two years to provide a better insight on the true direction without the baggage or excuses of the past.

Speaking of overpaying. How much do you think we will have to overpay to get someone tocome in here and fix this losing mess when Jersey is done with his destruction?

And let's also not forget that before all of that we paid one of the best head coaches in America multi-$millions to not be our head coach, eventually following that up by providing a signed letter to him saying he really didn't do anything wrong. When you reflect for even a moment, the sheer magnitude of the insanity of all of this is absolutely mind-boggling.

So, the university went to the trouble to send him a letter that "said nothing at all". That really makes sense.

The clowns are you cabers that think female pronouns are insults and obliviously use sexual references to refer to people further demonstrating the underlying obliviousness of your rants.

Keep gnashing those teeth and using threads as group therapy sessions.
