He didn't write the FoF. Did he travel to Philadelphia to talk to PH? Did he give interviews to WSJ, DMN and BS? Did he groan and cry out to God?
He defended Baylor as much as any regent, i.e. not at all, when our reputation was being ruined.

He was a lawyer with idiots as clients

It is really sad that Rev. Wiles is considered a big Baptist leader, or whatever is left of them. Most experienced people would have canned all three stooges with RR and idiot Doak. Look forward to police department getting exposed. Everyday students could sue them with their misdeeds for decades.

That's why they had alleged victims coming out from the late 90s.

We were all students. We dealt with a typical health facility- college campus co jurisdictional style police.
Some folks were thrilled a good department like Waco and not Baylor cops had jurisdiction across the river.

Jim Doak's "loose cannon" comment showed zero awareness. I don't remember anything they did other than screw with students and write tickets for no damn reason. They had no relationship with the students. Snakes.

You're not going to find much truth in preliminary court filings or the opposing counsel's rebuttals. Lawyers are a lot like lobbyists and political pundits. If their mouth is moving, you can expect hyperbole and spin in the best case scenario.

The most disturbing thing about the story is that Baylor's response does not deny that its senior student life administrators, cops and judicial affairs officers knew about Elliot's misdeeds and just ignored them.

The second most disturbing thing about the response is the email to Ramsower certainly seems to indicate he also knew about at least some of Elliot's assaults and he did nothing about it.

The third most disturbing thing about the story is Baylor seems more interested in proving that it has complied with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure than in dealing with a sexual predator attending the school.

Just a complete train wreck.

It just seems to me like it always seemed from the beginning. The big wigs were interested mostly in saving their own asses and passing the buck, throwing others under the bus. Still, none of this is really new. It's just that people are actually starting to see what happened int he first place, that most of us already knew. It should have been over. Now we're all having to suffer through it all over again.

Ramshower should get the Braveheart treatment and his remains fed to the bears.

1. There is no evidence of football knowing about Elliot's assaults prior to Hernandez

2. There is plenty of reason to think BU treated reports on Elliott the same as all other reports on sexual assault. Bury it, not because he is football player but because it would be bad for our uber Christian brand.

3. Even if there was evidence of football involvement and the cover-up was about winning, how do we not fire everyone involved?

4. If non-football leadership covered up because it was a football player we have an institutional control problem.

Absolutely agree. I can not wait to see what happens the next 6 months before all of this gets some clarity and then our worst nightmare comes to be realized. You know TTU and UT are waiting to see what happens before they speak up. You can say all you want, but I know personally that there are big money guys at both of these schools who would love to have him. I would hate to think (may be a reality) he gets hired by the Horns and they drop 100 on us by halftime. The narrative changes and LHN and ESPN actually apologize, and we look even most stupid than we do now. So much for having half ass business men running this at the time. At least NOW we can fill our own narrative of being average at best in CFB.

I do hope Rhule pulls this off, because I am embarrassed for our University at this point.

Agree. Yet lawyers and their accusations are conveniently applied and believed depending on the narrative of choice. Briles should have known all that was happening in his football program and was therefore accountable. But when same level of logic is applied for the BoR regarding the university as a whole.. ramsower..BUPD...student affairs.. they aren't accountable. .Even depositions under oath by people "in the know" are tossed out and dismissed by the shills.

My problem has always been about the hypocrisy.

They might be the most incompetent not self aware coaching staff in the history of the world. Kaz's actions with the Vb rape after specifics were given lead me to believe we had some dumb ones who couldn't clean up their asses IF necessary.

How can you be that out of touch with your team?

Bad for RG3's Heisman who later was burned and looked stupid with his ex wife ***** herself on Hurd's video.

Pretty clear we weren't ran by high character adults.
Ken Starr was out of it and Ian was the worse athletic director in NCAA history. All we needed was one man in leadership to stop the issues. We had boys.

They knew about Elliott during the Heisman campaign. You think a rape charge would have helped promote that award?

We had dudes filming sex to the point one tried to blackmail another because of it. You don't remember Richard Hurd?
Kaz received specifics on the VB, and blew them off after he was assured it was horseplay after told a stupid story by the players.
Naive, stupid and clueless staff. They cannot figure why they have a stigma these days or why no one but trashy commuter school athletics wants them.

The school was really using football to promote that brand while tearing down the alumni center.
Baylor didn't need rape allegations against a player when RG3's season was spinning the program into orbit.
Most schools do similar things to protect sports. However, the other schools don't let the trash fly over the yard and stain that precious thing we call NCAA sports.

Baylor needed a clean image and big award. I m sure all involved understood Elliott needed to be buried to protect their interest. Elliott was a known wild man. He was dangerous to his teammates' futures more than anyone truth be told.

We were promoting some sorta "Christian school" football brand that had a saintly quarterback who would point to heaven when scoring. It was perfect to feed the beaten down Baptist football fans, sell great moral character athletics (see how they promoted Drew as some saintly college basketball coach with Drew knowing how to make sure to throw faith into interviews when possible) and relevance in college sports.

That is a great story. There is evidence to support the administration doing what you say. And your speculation to support the coaches being involved.

It was a great deal the coaches fault. The former coaches left a burnt out house. Unfortunately, they caught themselves on fire and folks gladly kept pouring gasoline on them. Time to clean up and move on (call the NCAA to pick up the career carcasses).

Enjoy Urban sticking around. You gotta be angry and the beauty pageant needs him and will protect him. We didn't have that with our former regime.
