Looks like 10,000-14,000 beers sold in the OSU stadium per average game. It is going to pay some expenses.
Bowlsby needs to get beer sold at all league schools.

Baylor serves only Baptist beer - Dr Pepper. Amen for tailgates and flasks.

Lol. Not happening along with several other things that would downgrade the "Christian image" of Baylor.

Unless you are a high roller. Alcohol is just not available to the folks who have seats outside the boxes.

Y'all do realize the stadium has a nice bar that is open everyday except during home games right? In fact during road games there are drink specials and you can get dollar drinks every time Baylor scores a TD.

Last time I check more people sit outside the boxes than in them. You are going to make money off box seats regardless, regular seats in the stadium are a different story

My point is that it is hypocritical. Of course they should sell alcohol to everyone of legal age during games.

Another core Baptist tenant. Gotta keep up appearances.

Baylor packed McLane for several years without alcohol. They should do what they were doing then.

Do both.

Selling alcohol on game days in the stadium would also help keep butts in seats to the end of the game. Sure, it's not ideal that we would need to do that to keep fans there, but it's a fact. The students leave to go drink and watch the rest on TV. Some of the alumni leave to go drink and watch the rest on TV. It's just the way it is. If they want to give people a wristband that has three holes to punch for each beer, that's fine. We don't need a bunch of drunk fans. But the hardline stance on something 90% of adults are doing anyway seems pretty silly and fiscally stupid to me - not to mention what it does to the fans staying throughout the game. Just my two cents.

Well, fiscally smart hasn't been a label that has been applied to Baylor in a while..........

Not only is the bar closed on home game days, the keg handles are removed for appearance sake.

The Baylor Club has a "tailgate" indoors at the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame in Knox Hall where alcohol is sold.

Every gulp of cold beer helps pay for these coaching salaries.

If I were an OSU fan, I'd probably need to drink a lot of beer to watch my team play too.

Don't be that guy. Nothing wrong with having a couple beers while watching your team. Lots of stadiums do it. Oh and people drink at the tailgate. Drink responsibly. Get an Uber or DD

I wonder what the numbers are in the NFL. Probably no higher than the typical population.

Seriously, the one thing I hate about most athletic events are the drunks in the stands. Even if they're "our" drunks, they take the fun out of the game when they go over the top, particularly if I've brought the wife or family.

You would lose as many Baylor fans in the seats as you would get if beer were sold at the games.

I'd rather see them flesh out concessions with more home-town favorites rather than generic Aramark crap. You can, or at least used to, get Vitek's in house. Give me Czech Stop station, and a George's station, have someone set-up a Dr. Pepper float stand. These are far more enticing concession options for me to spend a dollar. I'm fine with whatever decision is made on alcohol sales, but I think that is a step too far for too many people to be a reality any time soon.

A business risk worth taking. Guarantee you that it's more dangerous and uncontrolled at tailgates than in the stadium.

Some of the drunkest people I've ever seen at games have been at games where alcohol isn't being sold. If someone wants to get black out drunk, they're going to do it whether there is booze being sold or not.

I've got no problem with alcohol at sporting events.

But at the same time, I'm not paying $60 to sit next to a meth addict in orange and black who wants to talk trash to a 12 year old and spill beer on elderly people.

I can't imagine what might go wrong.
