The Chiefs organization has known about this since February....but I guess when they were finally able to see video of it they decided to act

Maybe the Bengals can pick him up in case Mixon gets injured

Chiefs said they knew about incident back in Feb....but Kareem lied about the extent of it.

Sounds similar to Turpin at TCU

Wasn't kicked out of the league, he just was fired by the Chiefs for lying to the organization about a stupid outburst that he shouldn't have been a part of. Kudos to the Chiefs for taking a rare aggressive stance among NFL teams.

Chiefs also drafted Tyreke Hill.

I understand. I also tip my hat to Kansas City for their response and cutting loose a star player. Will be very interesting to see if another NFL team picks him up.

Hilarious (sad) that Tyreke Hill remains on the team.

The NFL put him on the exempt list. He can be signed but not paid or played until league clears him. I don't see that happening.

He did what he had to do, the right way, since OSU.
He went D2 and the abuse cost him big money.

Apparently its NOT okay to do this while you're actually in the league. If you're Joe Mixon and do a much much worse act caught on video while at OU, the league will welcome you with open arms. Two-faced.

Yes, not when they employ you.

Yep. So are we "all in" against domestic violence, or only sometimes NFL? Pre-NFL doesn't matter? Like a home plate umpire calling balls and strikes, I just want consistency.

Just because they are against doesn't mean each case is different. One size does not fit all.

I think the difference here is video exists. They knew what that hit the public they would get tons of heat. They wanted to get rid of him before that

Joe Mixon having a job in the NFL completely baffles me. The Mixon video is so obviously worse than Kareem Hunt's.

The moral to this story is, if you're going to punch out a defenseless girl on video, do it when you're playing at OU.

Unless you play for the Cowboys, then it's 6 weeks suspension, even though there's no evidence and the police drop the case and even the NFL's own investigator says there's nothing there.

Same deal...no video.

Comparing the three videos the most violent was Mixon followed by Rice and then far less violent was Hunt. Yet Mixon essentially only got redshirted by OU. Rice never played again yet he was over the hill. IMO the punishment for Hunt should be a suspension for the rest of this year.

Not even close. Kicked her in the butt. Even the report said "the leg."

Watch the video and judge for yourself.

From the angle of he video, I admit it is difficult to determine which body part of the girl on the floor Hakeem kicked. I will also admit that my video posting skills absolutely suck!!!!

Not sure this was domestic violence. This was a man hitting a woman (which I am against). (I'm also against women hitting men)

This has been my opinion since the Ray Rice incident. He ended up marrying that woman.

I would agree with suspensions, fines, etc. But to end a career because of this just seems way to harsh.

The league lets all sort of criminals back in. Even murderers. But not someone who punches or kicks women. (Once in the league... pre league is ok).
