Too far fetched to be against TCU. Would never happen.

Aaron Jones catching the touchdown pass in the end zone of that OU game was amazing.

1974 Miracle on the Brazos. Darrell Royal inserts Earl Campbell on defense with UT leading 24-7 after Baylor (Johnny Green...somebody help me) blocks a punt on UT's first drive of the second half.

Baylor drives inside the 5. On 4th down Earl jumps offside on a play Baylor is stopped.

One more play and Grant goes for the TD instead of the field goal.

Neal rolls right and barely finds the end zone.

24-14 becomes 34-24 and there actually is a Miracle on The Brazos.

Nothing else compares.

2011 against TCU - wide receiver pass on 3rd and 10 in the 4th quarter from Kendall Wright to RG3. It was a fantastic playcall and the game would have likely been over if the drive would have ended there.

I can still see that play and vividly remember holding my breath hoping Jeffrey would make it over the goal line before the UT pursuit caught him. You're right, he just barely got in before going out of bounds and the rest of that miracle come back is history.

As far as the most gutsy play call, it's hard to disagree with GuyMo's decision to go for it all with the 2 point conversion play in OT against A&M in '04, especially given how long it had been since we had beaten them, with seemingly every break in the world constantly going their way in multiple close games over a miserable 19 year stretch - until then.

.... just don't mention the 4th and goal the following year.

- BUmma

would have made it 24 - 0, IIRC.

Coach should have kicked the FG
Would have made 20-0

Bad memories. That game and the 4th quarter collapse in the 1/1/15 Cotton Bowl vs. Michigan State have to be at the top of the list of the most gut wrenching BU losses of all time along with possibly the Duke Carlisle end zone interception of Don Trull's pass vs. UT in 1963 to preserve a 7-0 loss.

Guy Morriss 2004. No brainier.

It's easy to be gutsy when you've got talent like RG3 and KW.

That was freaking Shawn Bell.

Shawn Bell was a baller that day. I believe he had 4 touchdown passes plus the conversion.

While not nearly "historic," Charlie's throw to Mims on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal against Vandy was pretty gutsy.

Not only was it the gutsiest play in BU history, it also made some TCU chick want to f***ing kill someone.

^^^^^ x 1,000. I was there. I still vividly remember Alcy Jackson's reception of a short swing pass that he turned into a long touchdown early in the game. And who can forget the blocked punt? Granted, not gutsy calls per se... Thought Neal would never make it to the end zone, though. Looked like molasses.

Those too young to have been there just cannot be expected to get it. UT had won, I believe, 7 consecutive SWC titles. Baylor in the 6-7 years before Teaff had been beyond dreadful and other than the anomaly of 5-6 in 1972 nothing seemed to have changed. Remember, we were 2-9 in 1973....so most thought nothing had changed.

Facilities? We had one Universal Gym and a few gallons of paint!

It was magical, and changed everything forever.

I'll never get my mind around what happened in the 15 Cotton Bowl. And I'm not quite sure how to put it in context of the amazing s*** Briles pulled off in the regular seasons.

I never saw a blocked kick travel so far. Wondered what kind of bruise Dotson got from that.
