Non-contact knee injuries are usually pretty catastrophic. That sucks.

Honestly, if you had told me we'd lose today in exchange for Johnston avoiding serious injury, I think I would have taken that trade. He's just so important to our defense.

Poor dude just can't stay healthy. And it's not like he's soft either, he's just had a run of terrible luck.

I'm hoping first and foremost that his injury isn't season-ending. And if it is, I really hope it doesn't have too big an impact on his draft positioning. This guy is a pro and deserves to make some serious cash playing football.

We should not assume anything. On April 7 Lauren Cox went down in the biggest game of her career and the team had to find a way to win without her with more than a quarter left. They did and they were honored today as National Champs (including a clever & special halftime show by BUGWB). There was speculation then that it might by ACL (especially because of Kristy Wallace a year earlier). Thank God it was less serious and she will be ready for the exhibition games later this month.

Second, whatever his injury we know the team will work together in his absence and do their best. I remember how MBB reacted to their best player having a season ending injury. Tristan Clark coached from the sideline and inspired the team to be even better and they did great. They now have a great preseason ranking and are expected to have a great year.

What Clay needs most of all is prayer. And we all can hope that whatever it is (I still haven't seen any news), he will heal quickly.

Yikes, bless him. . . If this turns out to be true, I wonder if he might have a chance of being granted a medical redshirt like Platt was?

Baylor loses 7 to 8 senior starters on defense after this year and having him back would be a consolation of some sort.

He will be missed on the field. I like the idea of player/coach, though. Tristan Clark did a great job of that for MBB this past Spring.

Torn ACL. Leaves a huge hole in the defense. We'll have a drop off in play. Do we have talent that can find it in themselves to step up and compete at the same level and skill?
