Is this a law passed by the people's elected representatives (who therefore can be held accountable)? Or is this a ruling by some executive or bureaucrat who can hide behind whatever excuse he/she wants?
The Constitution is not suspended just because of a pandemic.
On the other hand, I understand the idea of social distancing and masks: even if they only slightly mitigate the risks of someone getting the virus, they have the potential to save some lives. It's not so much the customers or employees at a business at risk, but other people they will come in contact with eventually.
Full discosure: I usually don't wear a mask in public but I don't go out often and usually for only short periods. I will not wear one in a restaurant because that's just silly.
Hey bud, just because it's a very contagious virus, do you think, I mean not to trample over your rights, but just in an effort to be considerate, could you maybe wear a mask when you're close to other people? Take it off for eating? Is that just a bridge too far?
Glad that Waco is asking people to wear masks. It's such a minor inconvenience, and once we are as good at dealing with covid, as we are at dealing with the flu, it won't be such a big deal. Not to mention vaccines and herd immunity a few years down the road. People complaining about 1a rights are the same ones that want the option to yell "bomb" in an airport, you know, just for the principle of the matter. Do we have rights or not?????
