Predicting the Big 12 Season: Week six features some of the biggest matchups of the season
Week six features key matchups at the top of the conference and a couple of unbeaten teams falling for the first time.

Iowa State 25 at Oklahoma State 30 (Stillwater)
Battle between two unbeaten teams ends up being a really good one. Spencer Sanders and Brock Purdy trade touchdown passes in the early going of the game but the Cyclones get a late field goal to take a 16-13 lead at intermission. In the second half, Chuba Hubbard rushes for 100 yards and two scores to help carry the Cowboys offense and helps give them a 27-19 lead going into the fourth quarter. Brock Purdy leads a 70-yard drive down the field which is capped off by a Breece Hall touchdown, but the two-point conversion is no good. The Cowboys are able to add a field goal and the defense holds to give them a huge home victory in conference play.
Kansas 17 at Kansas State 33 (Manhattan)
The Sunflower Showdown is a competitive one, as the Jayhawks have not lost hope on the season. Kansas tailback Pooka Williams continues his early season tear as he rushes for 100 yards and a touchdown, but his efforts aren’t enough. The Jayhawks inconsistent quarterback play costs them on the road. The Wildcats rely on a consistent blend of pass and run as they rack up 400 yards of total offense and cruise to the rivalry win.
TCU 20 at West Virginia 17 (Morgantown)
How about a defensive battle in Morgantown? The two teams combine for right at 300 yards of offense, four turnovers and eight sacks as this ugly game stays close throughout. TCU is able to rely on a consistent running game in the fourth quarter to eventually wear down the Mountaineers defense. TCU running back Darwin Barlow runs in the go-ahead touchdown with five minutes left to give the Horned Frogs a huge road win.
Texas 38 vs Oklahoma 34 (Dallas)
The Red River Rivalry lives up to the hype again as another thriller takes place in Dallas. Sam Ehlingher and Spencer Rattler each throw for 300-plus yards and combine for six total touchdowns. Both have a turnover but Rattler’s is more costly, as his interceptions in returned for six by Caden Sterns at the beginning of the fourth quarter. This gives Texas a 14-point lead, and the Sooners aren’t to rally, as the Longhorns pull off the upset and propel themselves to the top of the Big 12 standings.
