First time head coach, no spring practice and lost 9 starters o defense.

Vs

Veteran head coach, 19 returning starters and more than 35 players redshirted. It's not rocket science

La Tech is still playing tomorrow despite the 38 Covid cases they had just last week. I assure you Baylor wanted to play this game.

Stop. You were still probably going to lose even with multiple o-lineman out against a first year coach with no spring. The line move was on the premise of a game being played assuming we would just reach the threshold on the o-line. You still weren't favored after all of that.

Flip it and assume uh shows up with say 6 to 7 o linemen out. Your qb would be out for the year and you would have lost by 30+. Relax

Look at Baylor's staff as a whole, WAY better then Drunkard Dana assembled. Also from a talent perspective it's not close... not at all

BU Athletic Dir would not do that. UH Athletic Dir is there because of Matt.

So our AD went through all the motions of scrambling to make this game happen....but then the program got scared the day before kickoff. That sounds rational.

Your own QB bailed on you. Just up and quit 4 games in. Voted with his feet and walked away from his teammates. With tail between legs. The team leader. Said "seeya." Mid. SEASON.

That's pretty damned bad. Epicly bad, in fact ...

Love when a commuter school with 4 wins last years starts talking trash to tier 1 academic school with 11 wins last year.

As a former Bear who's currently going back to school at UH for an economics degree, you're delusional if you think Baylor chickened out to the Cougars at the last minute, lol.

you are certainly assuming a lot. We aren't afraid of Houston. I can certainly tell you people haven't changed much since the SW Conference years.

I read somewhere that 35 of them red shirted last year. 35.

But there is no way Baylor is scared of Houston. That's a silly idea.

Cougar -- you guys had a decent chance if the game had been played, but don't be ignorant all your life. If we were scared to play, the game wouldn't have been scheduled in a whirlwind fashion last week by both schools AND we agreed to play in the future.

Louisiana Tech had about 38 players out last week with Covid and cancelled against Baylor. Looks like they are all in tip top shape to head to Southern Miss tomorrow.

According to our Baylor AD, it almost sounds like we may have to cancel against Kansas next week if the guys who are out due to Contact tracing may not have completed quarantine in just a week.

Believe me, Baylor Nation is ready for some football and far more disappointed in a second game being cancelled.

Rhodes just confirmed that Baylor coulda still played the game but decided at the last minute not to go through with it using the Big 12 clause.

What's the point of scheduling the game if you were gonna duck and dodge in the end like yall have been doing since 1996?

They kept the home and home down the road, so they'll still see each other just not sure time line yet.

And also, I still love the idea that Cougar fans think we're dodging them when both schools (which both should be commended), put something together within a week. No one had to approach UH to play when BU had a couple smaller options, so not sure how there's a cop out being this thing wasn't scheduled years ago.

It's cute that you are such a devoted Cougar fan, but you are delusional if you think Baylor remotely fears playing Houston. Stop acting like you are on par with Bama or Clemson...Hell, Baylor was even favored in the game.

A lot of waffling here. Not sure I understand why coach wouldn't discuss specifics.

Sure, Baylor scheduled a last-minute game down to the wire, and then realized in their haste they had made a huge mistake, then quaking in fear, found an excuse to cancel their game against mighty Coog High.

Seems legit.

And also, in pure fear, kept the other 2 games they agreed to in the future.

There are legal issues: authorities are not allowed to reveal private information they might have on someone--such as health records.

They were playing the long game. Baylor was actually able to get the SEC to not play OOC games (bye Ole Miss) & then caused Hurricane Laura (hell, if George W. Bush can cause a hurricane, I am sure Mack Rhoades can too) AND gave 38 opposing players corona (bye LA Tech). Then they scheduled a game a week before, causing the coaches to scramble to prepare for another opponent, all so that they could pull the rug out from under coog high at the last minute. Yep, I bet thats how it went down.

Flawless strategery.

Baylor still undefeated.
