We should have kept Briles. Grobe proves that.
Hold on Alice. Remember how that coaching staff quit on the kids?

6-0 against the marshmallow opponents. NW State, SMU, Rice, OSU, ISU & KU

0-6 against the meat of the schedule. UT, TCU, OU, KSU, TT & WV
As I recall, Didn't Grobe get stuck with Art's assistants? Including one little crybaby? That undermined Grobe most of the time?

Yes we inexplicably fired Art but not his staff.

I don't know that they undermined Grobe. Grobe stuck up for them and the players as they were all getting panned by our BOR.

Grobe was the only person I really liked by the end of that mess. I wish he'd have stuck around in some capacity and I hope he can look past our embarrassing dumpster fire to find some soft spot for Baylor.

Art was gone from the program. Baylor was 6-0, ranked in the top 10, then on Friday before the Tx game, our own BoR threw the team under the Bus in an unsubstantiated WSJ article. If Art hadn't been fired for no real reason as Murff testified recently, another possible Big 12 Title.
There was a real reason for firing. The BOR and administration needed a scape goat for their failings.

Correction: The BOR didn't need a scape goat, they just wanted one to deflect from their failures. At any other school CAB would still be coaching.

Few schools would have tossed Briles under the bus for the school's failure develop and implement an effective Title IX compliance policy and program. They should have admitted their mistakes, made changes necessary to implement those changes and continued on.

Murff was proud when he said that no other school would have fired Art, then he testified under oath that he had no knowledge of any wrongdoing by Art under Title IX or in reporting sexual assaults. He was right, no other school would have been stupid enough.

I hiding a player selling weed from the school wrong?

How about lying to your bosses?

Get Starr to remove the monitoring of academic probation from Judicial Affairs and give it to the football staff. Have football staff ignore MORE academic fraud and while on probation and don't remove the player (That player was Tevin Elliott and he raped, again, after that).

Hide a players exposing himself and asking for sexual favors.

Not reporting players who broke into a rape victims apartment after being informed.

Assistant coaches trying to talk victims out of coming forward.

It's about much more than Title IX ! He repeatedly and systematically mislead his employer Baylor. That gets your fried in a heartbeat.

  • Ninety-one percent of college campuses disclosed zero reported incidences of rape in 2014. With about 11,000 campuses disclosing annual crime data, an overwhelming majority of schools certified that in 2014 they did not receive a single report of a rape.

The same Murff that said this on November 10, 2016?

"That's why the Board of Regents determined we simply could not allow a campus environment to continue where reports of sexual assaults were minimized, rationalized and mishandled within the University. We needed new leadership for our administration, our athletics department and our football team.

Many have second-guessed those decisions. But I need to make clear that, as brilliant and successful as Coach Briles was, he will not be returning to Baylor. This change in leadership was not based on any single incident, but on the weight of the information presented to us and a pattern of poor decisions over a range of disciplinary issues, not just sexual assault. The internal system of discipline operated by the coach was not in line with the University's mission and obligations.

To Art's credit, he took responsibility for this in discussions with the Board of Regents and in a national media interview."

Agree! If I were a young recruit watching Baylor football, I'm looking elsewhere. Rhule seemed able to coach up 2 and 3 star athletes but I don't see Aranda having that ability. He needs those 5 star studs LSU recruited and based on the product on the field, they ain't headed our way.

Losers EXACTLY like you, Timmy, LEX, DAC, the Rev, TexScientist, I'mABear2, BUGWB, Alice and all the other titty babies crying for 1,640 consecutive days said the same thing after Rhule started out 1-11. You junior high heroes moaned about his offense and his defense.

Rhule then went 7-6 and finally 11-3. He won the 2018 bowl game and then during the 11-3 season played for the Big 12 Championship and then played in the Sugar Bowl.

All of this after losing a large number of highly ranked recruits who baled on him when he took over. It happened again after the 1-11 season. Where are those recruits today? They all missed out on back-to-back bowl seasons but more importantly, are all likely getting a substandard degree, if they even graduate at all.

Baylor is not for every one. It is tough. It demands discipline and goal setting.

If a kid is not able to accept these challenges they should go somewhere else. Aranda is going to be successful.
