Anybody thinking about going? I know I'd much rather think about football in September than the weather we are having now! If I am able to put together another group discount, is anyone interested? In 2019 we had huge crowds in Ft Worth & Arlington for the Big 12 championship. Starting 9-0 helps.

Saw a SA Gunslingers game there once. Haven't been back.

Why are we playing them there and not in Waco?

TxSt built a new stadium 8-10 years ago. Tech was the opening opponent.

And I thought the Gunslingers played mostly at Alamo stadium on 281?

SWT remolded the same stadium they have had since I was there 84-88 sometime about 13 years ago. The Strutters are worth watching at halftime

Saw several games there years ago when my wife worked there. Not a bad stadium but not much room for social distancing.

Hopefully by the Fall there will not be much need for social distancing with everyone wanting the vaccine pretty much having it by then.

You are correct, I must have seen some other semi-pro game there. My bad.

We will play them in Waco next year. It's a home & home.

P5 typically only play these types of programs at home. I was just curious.

It's a valid question, but Baylor does play such teams on the road every so often. I've been to Houston twice in recent years for Rice games & went to SMU in 2015. We also went to Buffalo, NY in 2014 & Monroe, LA a couple years earlier.

Carrington fouled out!

Too many fouls, too many turnovers. As someone already said, too much sloppiness.

Was at the utsa game in '18 and it was an alright experience. Gets loud in that dome but was nice revenge for the previous season.

Thanks for the reminder! I was at that game too.

Good opportunity for a camping trip on the Comal or Guadalupe.

I get playing in DFW, Houston, and San Antonio. It is good for recruiting. Playing in San Marcos though? I guess it's close enough to kind of like having a game in Austin anyway when we have Texas in Waco. I suppose it is arguably really close to SA as well.

I was just in New Braunfels for the weekend. Didn't go anywhere near the rivers.

Some of the first round of women's NCAA tournament will be in San Marcos. They have large enough facilities.

I have planned on going to this game since I heard it was scheduled, I live like 20 minutes from the stadium.

Really! Where? I have family in New Braunfels, also about 20 minutes away.

Texas State is only about 20 miles from my house. The wife is an SWT grad. This would be our first game since Baylor vs. Liberty. Perhaps it is time.

Corrected the error. Surely you knew what I meant unless you're interested In finding out the hard way about their former reputation as the heroes capital of the country.

it's a 2 for 1. Two games in waco (2022-2023) for 1 game in (2021)

lots of recruiting potential in that area.

I just know the San Marcos area has led to a lot of good times since I was 17. They do host a large high school cheerleader convention

I live in Kyle about 1 exit up on I-35 from the San Marcos city limits. Fully plan to be at the game this fall.

That's not true. Most P5s do a 2-for-1 agreement with G5's. Meaning two home games for the power 5 and 1 home game for the G5.

Let's score 50, hold them to 10, and start making the statement that Baylor Offense is back.

That's gotta be one of the shortest drives to the game outside San Marcos!

I like that idea! Better yet, our defense shuts the down making the statement that Baylor Defense is back too!
