Baylor landed commit No. 1 in the 2023 class as Post (TX) High School outside linebacker Isaiah Crawford‍ gave his pledge to the Bears following an unoffcial visit on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound prospect begins the early momentum Baylor already had built in the 2023 class. Crawford is slotted to be a JACK linebacker in Baylor’s defensive scheme.

His uncle, Billy Crawford, is a former Baylor player which was a big part of his recruitment. His lead recruiter has been Joey McGuire along with key efforts from Aaron Hunt, Brian Nance, Josh Bookbinder and Vince Guinta. It was an overall team effort to land the elite four-star prospect.

The District 2-2A-I Newcomer of the Year totaled 106 total tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles during his sophomore season.

Crawford chose Baylor over early offers from Baylor, Colorado, SMU, Arizona State, Texas Tech,  Mississippi State and Illinois.

I know he's playing against 2A competition but he seems exceptionally fluid and lots of quick twitch. Post is coming out with some serious players, a recent Colorado commit comes from Post as well.

Welcome aboard, Isaiah. A Dave Aranda defense is a great place to spend your college career.
