Fixer Upper's Chip and Joanna Gaines are reportedly buying the Downtown Waco building that's the home to the Waco Tribune-Herald.

The Tribune reported the Gaines bought the 70-year-old building, located at 900 Franklin Ave., with the goal of making it the corporate headquarters for their brand Magnolia.

Chip and Joanna Gaines are planning to make it their Magnolia model's company nerve heart.

The Tribune-Herald, in the meantime, is relocating to workplace house in River Sq. Heart, close to Franklin Avenue and College Parks Drive. The newspaper, which may hint its founding to 1892, is giving up greater than 100,000 sq. ft for about 3,500 sq. ft of workplace house just a few blocks away, along with a 3,000-square-foot distribution heart elsewhere on the town.

Surprised the Trib hadn't sold it sooner. There hasn't been a newspaper printed there since July, 2009. They moved printing to Austin then. In 2016 it was moved to Bryan.

I remember going in there as a kid to pick up stacks of freshly printed papers to sell.

They still distributed papers from there. They were just off a truck, instead of wheeled out from inside the building.

The Trib didn't own it. They rented.

MCAD website shows the property owned by WTH Properties, LLC..They show to have purchased it from Cox Publications in 2009. Edit: Not sure of the current officers/directors of WTH Properties,LLC

WTH (Waco Tribune Herald) Properties is the LLC that Clifton and Gordon Robinson set up when they bought the Trib. They also set up Robinson Publishing.

The Trib (the publication) was bought by a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway in 2012 (resold in 2020). WTH Properties is not affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway or Lee Enterprises, the current owner.

I guess I was mistaken, but I thought Clifton Robinson had sold WTH Properties. Thanks for the note.

Copy that. Apologize for my lack of clarity.
