This team's length and athleticism at the wing spots gives it a much better chance to be competent defensively. I'm encouraged by today's performance.

Even some of the shots Washington has hit have been well contested.

I really like this team's role players. Both Powell and Williams are really good at the things they do well. And they don't even try to do the things they're bad at.

I was way higher on Williams than most when we signed him, but I really like what we've seen from him so far.

But I was also high on White, and he's looking more like a bust. Hopefully, he'll give us something before the season ends.

That was always his achilles heel at Cincinnati. He was great when he was running the baseline and slithering in for layups and short shots, but then would go into the funk of trying to force 3's.

Yeah, he just has to be reined in from time to time. The good thing is Drew has shown no hesitation to pull him when he gets out of control.

I think Drew has handled him perfectly so far this season. And he's generally responded well to a few minutes on the bench.

Agree. A big part of defense is intensity and "want to." We never really saw that last year.

Early on I feel like I'm seeing lots of active hands and more effort to stay in front of your man. It's early...but the attitude feels different.
