Is this with the intent to stay in the draft or to enter without hiring an agent and potentially returning?
Probably testing the waters. He can come back if he does not hire an agent. He will not get drafted as a three point specialist with a 33% number. He can do much better and I hope he comes back next year and gets drafted next year.
Oh yeah, that's an important question to consider. I guess I assumed it was to just move on since he's already been in college for 4 years and dealt with that wrist injury already and wouldn't want to risk anything else. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.DanaDane said:

This would be an even worse decision the Miller made years ago. Not even close to being ready good lord
Maybe this has more to do with Flagler than Macio? I know that Flagler is definitely being hyped.
Would suck if he left, I am assuming he is happy with playing time, team, coach etc. As a college player you would think he would want the chance to play in the tourney, you never get that shot again, pros will be there...and reality is the bag league for at least a year or two.

Thought that initially but Flagler can rotate in with all 3 starting guards. That can't be it. Probably just getting some bad advice somewhere. No chance he plays in the NBA and I don't mean that as disrespect because he's a stud at Baylor.

Teague is a fine collegiate guard whose current game does not translate well to the NBA. He could play abroad and try to come back to the NBA at a future date, but right now he is unlikely to either be drafted or to catch on as a free agent. The G-League has a large quantity of similar players.
Chrome is right - hope he doesn't hire an agent - honest projections (not from family members) will have him late 2nd round, at best, and likely a FA.

Cryer is not playing the 3 over Mayer or Flagler no way. He's gonna play and play meaningful minutes like Dain but I don't see anyway LJ starts over Mayer if Teague actually does leave
That's true. I'm not thinking of the 3 guard set we run as traditional though. I can easily see Butler/Mitchell/Cryer out there a lot though. Cryer probably more a Bandoo replacement than Teague I guess. Nice to have all these options regardless!IowaBear said:

I misunderstood you. I would be okay with that set! Cryer looks like a dynamic scorer! Can't wait to watch him. I'm most excited about Dain. And loveday looks like he can be a stud in a few years

He has also never played in an NCAA tournament. This could be the preseason #1 team in the nation next season if they hold together.
He can hire an agent to test the waters and still retain his eligibility. That rule was changed in 2018.
Macio couldn't have picked a more violatile time to enter the NBA draft. Several reports say the league will lose BILLIONS due to the pandemic. Only the top notch - and I mean top notch - talent will survive next year's draft.

I wonder if his age affected the decision? Just can't see what else it could be. Unless he's got people in his ears saying he's ready. The draft could be 3 rounds... and he still wouldn't be drafted.
What's the average salary of overseas basketball? It's still got to be better than most 9-5 jobs right? If he doesn't make it in the NBA but makes it somewhere overseas..still not a bad life post college.

I don't think there is any safe place to hide from covid-19. Doesn't matter if you are playing college basketball or NBA or over seas.
There is a lot of uncertainty right now about next year's scheduling in every sport at every level. Teague may well want to keep his options open, as others will want to do.
This does inject a bit of uncertainty into the redecicruiting process for Drew, however, since that slot could remain in question until early summer. A decision will have to be made about the possible transfer situation and Teague's decision will play into that, as things now stand.

True. But they are among the worst hit. Personally, I believe the Chinese numbers probably should be 2-3 times their official numbers. They lie about everything. The irony is that their government is lying to save face and it actually makes them look even more incompetent, corrupt, & untrustworthy--not that they had any of that before.

Me and just about everyone I know. I cannot imagine living anywhere else--especially now. With all of our problems, it's much worse everywhere else--including Europe. If not the pandemic, then the economy, government, etc.

Agree with Historian. Would much rather live here then a 3rd world country dealing with COVID-19. Either way regarding Teague he's not ready to play at any professional level. Anyone who says otherwise is being a homer.
