Honestly, so far, Baylor's 3 pt shooting is unimpressive, and there's too much individual play. We blew away Mich St when we started playing team ball in the 2nd half. Mayer is throwing up too many bricks, and our headband guy tries too much 1 on 5. Our talent level may be the best ever, and can overcome these early tendencies if we'll correct them as the season moves along.

Yes, we're 131st in 3P FG made and our % is not great. We need to improve there.

As a team we're in the top 10 for assists and Akinjo is 8th in the NCAA for assists per game. If he can narrow his shot selection, he's going to be fantastic. However, CSD knew what he was getting with Akinjo - which is an aggressive mentality.

Butler and Mitchell were so good at 3s and getting into the lane to create open shots we're going to miss them. I don't know if we want Sochan taking 2.7 3s per game.

The flip side is we are 7-0 and our closest game is an 8-point win. We have not been in a close game in the last minute. And that's with the team off to a slow start shooting three pointers. How scary good can we be when we heat up from the three-point line? We are getting good looks.

A healthy hand for Flagler all by itself is worth a little bump.

If Mayer can get back to his 3P accuracy from the past two seasons it's going to look a lot better.

7-0 and a top 5 ranking with 4 new starters. Tough!

We also haven't played a ranked team yet. That may not matter very much because the rankings often seem somewhat arbitrary & we've had plenty of tough games already. We should expect them to be tougher in conference play.

Anyone who expects a repeat of last years 3 point shooting needs to take the green goggles off. That was never going to happen. That said they'll still end up top 75 nationally in every meaningful 3 point shooting statistic. Flagler has over 2 weeks to heal before we play Nova (ABP next Saturday) so he should be close to 100% by the time we play them. That'll help like mentioned above

True. It is a nice dream to think we can replicate that and again have 5 plays shooting 3's at 40% or more. But even that stat hides the fact that 2 of those were bench players.

The headband guy...was he the tournament MVP by any chance?
