I believe that makes 4 coaches leaving in less than 9 months. Very rare.
Yes I guess I should have made that clearer. I didn't think about specifically stating that two left and two mutually parted ways. I guess I just assumed that we all knew that the two who parted ways also left.ScottyB_The_Baylor_King said:geewago said:

Albeit 2 of them were "mutually parted ways" during the season last year.

The coaches seemed grateful to both Baylor and Coach Nicki in their messages. Both of these departures seem amicable at least and don't carry the tone of someone being unhappily forced out or leaving on bad terms.Bone Squad said:
I know some zealot is gonna get on here and say "how dare you, you Nicki hater!"...
But, yeah, I find these 4 sudden departures concerning. I don't have the first clue what is going on, or who is at fault, or if anyone is at fault. But it's hard not to see this and think something behind the scenes isn't right.
And then Baylor hired her previous coach who also brought in Deng. And some come just because they want to come to a program and of course, some assistant coach will have to be involved in their coming. It says nothing as to whether the recruit came because of the assistant coach or the assistant coach was just the role player to help them get to where they wanted to be because that was part of their job. I think ultimately a player comes because of the head coach because if they do not trust the head coach they would be stupid to come regardless of who "recruits" them.BearTiger said:
Why they left is not as important. We will never know since Coach N keeps things close to the vest. What matters is that we lost 4 assistant coaches within a year, while the head coach is still there. This is rare, highly unusual. This is a big question mark for me and very concerning. Some recruits and transfers come because of assistant coaches. Coach Baker recruited transfer Taliah Scott.

I don't know why Internet boards create every conspiracy theory in the world, regardless of the topic. Perhaps these coaches saw there was going to be a greater commitment to the program required than they were wanting to give because of family choices. Perhaps they felt it was time their spouses' careers took higher priority. For every negative conspiracy theory there is also a positive. It is pointless and unfair to all parties involved to speculate in manners that raise doubt on the program or the individuals involved when there are no known facts to support it.
Heck, Aranda was throwing out coaches right and left and it at least appears that we are in much better shape because he did.

You have every right to your opinion, and I respect it. But you can't downplay my concerns. Every person in our families is asking what in the world is going on. Suspicions and red flags went up when 4 assistants left in the same season. Our families have supported our WBB and donated to WBB every year for 30 years since 1990s. Our families donated a lot of $$ into the program for 30 years so we are deeply invested in it. We have every right to be concerned when something like this happens. Even contributors like our families are kept in dark with no explanation whatsoever.
She will hire two because no coach leaves assistant coaching spots empty.Bear3 said:
I would think Nicki would hire at least one more coach.
