Nina Davis? Odyssey Sims might be interesting

Absolutely yes to Nina! I'd also like to see Caitlin Bickle on staff in some capacity; she just signed up to play in a 3x3 league in the Northwest. I think Odyssey is intent on playing as long as she can. She's been starting with the Sparks.

Idk why people are worried lol.

One of my main knocks against NC was recruiting, and her coaching staff.

She hit it out the park this offseason in recruiting (wish we had got a legit post, but we'll be fine)

She also brought in a GREAT former HC and recruiter.

I hope she goes and gets 2 more great Assistants and builds a legit coaching staff she can lean on.

I believe she is finally learning how everything in College Basketball works, and will soon capitalize. If she can get the NIL upped for WBB, she will be even better.

Props to her for getting better.

You have every right to your opinion, and I respect it. But you can't downplay my concerns. I'm only talking about WBB, not FB. Every person in our families is asking what in the world is going on. Suspicions and red flags went up when 4 assistants left in the same season. As I said before, this rarely happens when a head coach is still there. Our families have supported our WBB and donated to WBB every year for 30 years since 1990s. Our families donated a lot of $$ into the program for 30 years so we are deeply invested in it. We have every right to be concerned when something like this happens. Even contributors like our families are kept in dark with no explanation whatsoever. We trust Coach N, but this definitely raises concerns.
I'm in with you. Assistants disembarking the CNC train for some reason.

Nina Davis coaching any player on shooting technique is a terrifying concept.

Nina is one of my all-time favorite BU WBB players, but you are absolutely correct on that. I'd want to keep her on the recruiting trail (where she'd be incredible) and off the court for that reason.

But, yeah, I find these 4 sudden departures concerning. I don't have the first clue what is going on, or who is at fault, or if anyone is at fault. But it's hard not to see this and think something behind the scenes isn't right.

Baylor's fiscal year ends on May 31, so all one year contracts expire then, too. Could it be for these two they are fulfilling their contract by giving notice and staying until contract is fulfilled? Can't speculate for the two earlier changes.

Appreciate their service! Change can be a chance to bring in a new team and step up expectations. May be a blessing to all involved.

It can be. Or, it can go the way of Texas Tech WBB

You got that right !!!

Great rebounder and fantastic person though
She is and would be a valued asset to any program - but I hear she is very happy where she is at right now

If Tech can win the WCWS with their $1M pitcher, they may go that way in BB as well and it will quickly turn around. Unfortunately now it seems the pocket book can trump (with a lower case "t") whoever you have as a coach. It certainly has an impact on recruiting.

The speed with which we announced our new assistant coaches makes me feel a lot better about the situation than I did initially. I do not think these new hires could have been coordinated this quickly if they started over the weekend. That tells me that the departures were known well in advance with plenty of time for us to search for replacements. It felt sudden to us as fans, but was not a surprise inside the program.

i think like someone said before they finished their contracts because we were in the middle of recruiting season.

Saw an interview with Patrick Mahommes, mentioned $ coming in for TT women's sports. His wife is part owner of women's pro soccer team in KC. Apparently he is "giving back" to his alma mater.

Wonder if trying to buy a national championship in softball was part of his efforts? Hate to root for UT, but I am certainly glad UT beat Tech for the championship yesterday. Softball is likely the easiest and cheapest sport to buy a championship. You only need a pitcher that no one can hit and a couple of hitters. The rest can be average and you can still go far.

It showed yesterday though what happens when you rely on that pitcher too much and when she gives out you got nothing. Guess they'll go out and buy another $1M pitcher to go along with the one they have for next year. Some school that does that, especially when they have been an also ran at a national level for their entire history really puts an asterisk on any championship they get, or at least it should. It is sad that college sports have come to this state. I guess since they have seen what they can do in softball, is WBB next?

I feel for our coaches in women's sports, especially in WBB because the expectations, dare I say demands, of some fans to roll along as if we were still in the 20-teens, need to be measured against what resources our side has to compete against such teams as a Tech in softball that seemingly has unlimited funds to go buy players at the highest level. I don't care what talents you may have at coaching, if you don't have the dollars to at least be in the ball park, you are not going to get the roster your coaching talents and school history would otherwise indicate were paying players still illegal.

If NIL and free agency continues unchecked in any manner, college athletics will be dead to many previous fans.
