Results of this game could go a long way toward determining the conference championship this year. This is West Virginia's last tough game other than the season ending game against Baylor in Waco. It would really benefit us if ISU could win this game, giving us a 2 and a 1/2 game lead going into the final stretch of 5 games for Baylor - of which at least 2 could be very tough.

If West Virginia loses tonight that would mean Baylor could afford to lose 2 games and still win the outright championship rather than sharing it possibly with West Virginia in a situation where they win tonight and we lose 2 of our remaining games...

Go Iowa State!!

Big win for Iowa State. How'd they do it?
1. Madisen Smith was out for WVU with hamstring strain.
2. Kari Niblack had a rough night, fouling out in only 21 minutes with 8 points and 3 rebounds.
3. Because Iowa State plays with a roster of clones, they switched every screen that WVU set for Gondriezick. As a result, Kysre couldn't get clean looks from the perimeter and was only 1-5 from the 3 point line. She led WVU with 19, but they were nearly all drives and FT's. With Smith out, Niblack off, and Gondriezick neutralized, the other WVU players couldn't generate enough offense.
4. Iowa State was 13-27 from 3 (48%) and 14-14 from FT line (100%). Great shooting night.
5. Iowa state avoided their tendency to dump the ball to Ashley Joens and stand around watching her create. They had good ball movement and balance, with 5 players in double figure scoring (Joens, Scott, Donarski, Feuerbach, Ryan).
6. Although outsized, ISU worked hard to block out and actually won the rebound battle 36-33.
7. And finally, it was Senior Night at Hilton. Last year our frustrating loss to ISU was on Senior Night. Extra little bit of energy, grit, and Hilton Magic on Senior Night in Ames? Perhaps.

I agree with the good job comment.I would add that Coach Bill Fennelly makes good decisions and adjustments.I think he is the second best WBB coach in the conference.
