Hannah G, defended smaller, more athletic post Mack very well! Good job. Just want to see her play more!

The team as a whole, but esp Gusters and Andrews missed out on a full compliment of non conference games, IMO. They really could have used those games.

There is no reason why they shouldn't receive 10+ minutes in games decided by 20 points or more.

Mulder, both have participated in the total 20 games played so far this season. Gusters is averaging 11.8 minutes per game. Andrews is averaging 11.6 minutes per game.

One could say those numbers are pyrite.

Those minutes are top heavy against teams like McNeese State, Southern, and NorthWestern State in exhibition games. It's a different story against Texas, Iowa State and West Virginia.

Gusters and Andrews will be great players for the Lady Bears. Especially with a limited off season and non-conference schedule, their game experience has to fit within the team goals. Based on CKM's comments and actions, these seem to be the goals.

#1 win the game, conference, conference championship, national championship.
#2 starters have to improve each game
#3 reward our upperclassmen who have earned their right to play, so our younger players know that hard work is worth the effort.
#4 develop our new and unexperienced D1 players so they can build confidence and contribute in future games.

The key minutes are those 1st and 2nd quarter substitutions for Andrews and Gusters. Both of them normally get some time then and are continuing to improve, but still have a ways to go to get more meaningful minutes, especially on the defensive end of the court.

So, Mulder, for the sake of getting closer to understanding your suggestion, which veteran's minutes do you take away from in order to increase our two first-year's minutes?

The starters play heavy minutes, some the entire game. Which is totally unnecessary.
Among them there are 20+ minutes that can be given to the bench players.

This way a well rested starter isn't prone to turnovers and can finish the game strong.

If only Mulkey would listen to your objective fandom advice, she might be able to lead the Lady Bears to a Big 12 championship.

I thought coach hit the perfect balance against KSt. Starters got to shine, and bench got valuable mins. I'm sure having Texas Monday night helped rest starters. Watching SC and AM today with multiple dominate bigs reminded me that after 2 fouls on Queen, Gusters has to be ready to go into biggest game of her life. She must have experience to cover. Bickle just not big enough as we have seen against 6'6". Gusters may prove to most important player in the tourny, so she needs time against talent.

Like Kalany as a Frosh, Hannah needs to lose about 20 lbs. then she might be as athletic as Queen and live up to her great potential. Right now her minutes are limited by her conditioning.
