I guess WVU qualifies as the surprise team of the season, currently sitting in 1st place, the only team in conf with 30 wins (so far) on the year. Meanwhile the Bears are at the other end of the standings with half the wins. If BU wants to keep their Conf Tourney streak alive they need to find a way to win 2 games this series at minimum.

Biggest surprises of the year so far have been how good WVU has been and how bad TCU has been. Jury's definitely still out on Saarloos, he won the B12 with Scholssnagle's guys last year and they're on their way to their worst season in a long time.

The margin for error for this team (no pun intended) is really slim, especially against Top 25 level competition. If you want to be a "glass is half full" type, I suppose you could take some solace in the fact that we've at least been competitive at home since B12 play started, meaning we're hopefully not all that far away if Thompson can produce a decent or better recruiting class for next season and the seasons beyond.

Oh I agree. I'd say we have already exceeded expectations.

But it would have been so great to win a series against the top team.

Well, that was a weekend I don't want to see again.

SMH nearly impossible to play a full game of clean ball.

This is probably the worst Baylor baseball team since the 50's. We have 11 games to get 5 wins to get us to the 20-win mark, which we haven't failed to reach since 1971.... when they only played about 40 games/year. I don't blame Mitch too much for all of this, but this is a historically embarrassing season.
