Dude is already solidly in 5th place all-time in MLB home runs hit by former Baylor players.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/schools/?key_school=32a1e940

He's up to 14 home runs now,. Next up is Matt Batts at 26 home runs.

Overall, Muncy is doing a great job, with an OPS around .900. Sic 'em Max!

Among former Baylor players with more than 25 plate appearances, Max Muncy now leads them all in career OPS at .769. Max passed David Murphy (.765 career OPS) last night.

Slow your excitement Valpo. M&M has a long way to go before we should consider him better than Murphy.

Comparing stats with 25 ABs is silly. Murph has a solid 10 of mlb play under his belt. My opinion, the best Baylor baseball to play in the majors.

If it wasn't for a crazy injury at home plate, he would've won Rookie of the Year award.

Solid player. Solid individual.

Yep. Murphy is the best. We do have a Hall of Famer who was also a war hero on Baylor's resume, so he gets the nod over Murphy.

And just to let you know, the 25 plate appearance minimum I set was just to eliminate a couple people who barely played and not to include Muncy. Max has 425 PAs.

Your starting second baseman, Max Muncy!

He's the Dodgers' Marwin Gonzalez. He plays all fields.

Of course the first Baylor Bear ever. Muncy is only the 4th Bear to hit 27 or more career home runs.

1. David Murphy ... 104
2. Kelly Shoppach ... 70
3. Ted Uhleander ... 36
4. Max Muncy ... 27

Baylor has still only ever had 1 All-Star and 1 Hall of Famer, both being pitcher Ted Lyons.

Don't know if it still holds true after addition of WV and TCU, but of the original BIG12 teams, Baylor is the only school to have a hall of famer.

Again, that is pitcher Ted Lyons.

Yep. No TCU or WVU alum are in the HOF. TCU's best alumnus is 3-time all-star Matt Carpenter. Carpenter should have made the team this year, as he's posting a career best OPS, but he did not get elected and like Max Muncy, he did not win the Final Vote.

Mixed feelings about that home run since it was against my Braves...
