The Houston Cougars obliterated the field in the 4x1 on a wet track with a steady rain to break the NCAA record held by TCU since 1988! It's hard to believe a 38.17 in the rain.
I may live to see a college team break 38s. I never thought that was possible.

It helps when two of your guys place first and second in the 100 and another is 8th.

Michael Norman (USC soph who almost chose BU) broke the NCAA record with 43.61 on a wet track! He also broke the Heyward Field stadium record held by the great MJ. Wil got last with 46.20.

Michael Johnson's Hayward Field record in the 400M is no more.

What happened to Auburn's 4X400 in the semis? Did they drop the stick early? 3:15 and 50 and 49 onthe last two legs. USC Vs. Auburn in the finals could have been epic.

Here's a sickening thought...unless we beat somebody in the finals of the 4X400, we are going to finish in a tie with.......Liberty.

Thank you Wil London! Wil's 44.93 anchor passes Stanford to get 7th place in the 4X400 and earn 2 points and finish the meet with 3 points and a tie for 55th place.

Unacceptable, not to mention somewhat disgraceful.

3 points is unacceptable.

Rai Benjamin of USC ran the second fastest 400 hurdles in world history behind only Kevin Young and tied with Edwin Moses!

USC broke the Collegiate Record in the 4X400, running 2:59.00. Texas A&M was second in 2:59.91, making A&M the only school ever to break 3 minutes in the relay 4 times.

I got behind on my DVR, so just now finished. Wil and Trey need some help. We were so far behind the cameras rarely showed us.

It was a rough year for men's track, but we did manage to beat Liberty, UTSA and Duke. So there's that.

Seems we are way behind so many other programs now as well.
We have to recruit much much better. Don't know why we are not attracting more top runners.

I hear ya. Seems like nearly all the men will return and we add a star pole vaulter and very promising middle distance runner. Lightfoot cleared 18' several times and that would've place third or so at this ncaa meet. We need Max Willis to return to his freshman level when he was B12 freshman of the year. Freshman Jason Baldridge was improving each meet to the point of low 50's in the 400 hurdles and had the leading time coming into the B12 meet and would've scored at the NCAA meet, but he got hurt. He had also been running a good leg in the relay. Just imagine adding Boogie Barnes in the 100/200 and 4x1.

Lady Bears run the 4X400 in about 40 minutes. They drew Lane 7 with the 7th fastest time in the semifinals. The rain may be somewhat of an equalizer based on today's races on the track, but Baylor has a lot of ground to make up to get in the top 5. Good luck ladies!

They should be hungry since no individual made the final.

Gotta wonder if we use the same training techniques as the successful teams which are able to peak at conference, advance their potential scorers thru regionals then peak again at the NCAA meet. Do our athletes continue to work as hard or are they just satisfied to make it to the meet? Hard questions forcing a look in the mirror. No way our talent level equals three and one points.

Hard to top the end of the meet. Georgia and Stanford had 52 and 51 points, but no relay. The only relay team that could surpass Georgia was USC (43) which needed ten points to do it. They were well back until the homestretch when Kendal Ellis ran down Purdue and passed them right before the finish line. Incredible.

Yep. This used to be foregone conclusion that we'd be competitive.
