Preakness Stakes was run yesterday (10/3). Kentucky Derby winner Authentic ran a strong race, leading almost from the start, all the way on the backstretch and lead all of the field by 8-10 lengths at the finish--all the field except one horse, that is.
And that one horse was a GIRL, ie, a filly named Swiss SkyDiver.
The filly took the lead on the far turn and held off Authentic and the other guysn down the stretch to the wire, nosing Authentic's stretch run.
A distant third was Jesus' Team (a surprise Show who went off at 40-1 odds).
On to the Breeder's Cup (November 7).
