Hopefully if Republicans win the House in November, they will concentrate on the work at hand and put political payback as no more than 5th chair fiddle.

This country needs a Congress that will get to work with

- legislation that will assert its authority and take power back from the executive pen - solving regulatory overreach and slow the extraordinary executive branch growth over the last few decades.
- legislation that will get the oil and gas industry pumping more and use the wealth from that to find alternatives that work and work well - like the newer nuclear micro plants.
- legislation that will assist US industry to fill in supply chain gaps.

Make them "clean" bills - no pork - and let the president veto them. There will be no excuses left for the Democratic party after that, except that they don't like those policies.

The party has never been bigger. 75m voters and still growing. The numbers coming into the party are substantially greater than the numbers which have left. Enormous wave building. There will be Democrat House members lose who had no idea they were in trouble when the polls closed.

But regardless, if you're really concerned about stopping fascists (and communists) as well, by far the best and easiest way to do that is simply to support and uphold the Constitution, whether the threat is coming from the right or the left doesn't matter, it works both ways.

I'm certainly willing to join anyone who is willing to put away partisan divides and find common ground in support of the Constitution.

Can we not just simply find common ground in the Constitution and focus on that above all else?

that's why we have a Republic, to harness populism into a positive force for change, to force establishments to respond to redress of grievances. We're going to see a little of that the next two cycles.

Populism is a word never heard unless establishments have screwed things up.
