Not in 24. I think you will see him go for Gov first. He is young enough to look until 2032.

First big hurdle is a statewide-fundraising base. Two things accentuate that: 1) the bigger the state, the bigger the fundraising base; 2) the earlier that state participates in the GOP primary, the better. DeSantis is particularly well positioned in that regard. The structure of the GOP Presidential primary has been in place for many, many years, so one would not want to read any skullduggery into it, but it could hardly be better arranged for the advantage of a sitting FL Governor with grassroots appeal.

Governors have a huge advantage over Senators. Governors preside over a state. A Governor whose party also controls one or more statehouses is even better positioned, as he/she can push at the state levels agendas, policies, actually sign legislation into law which further a campaign for national office. A Senator has the statewide fundraising base but not the ability to influence agenda. So a Gov. significantly "outranks" a Senator, is a far more valuable investment, in the eyes of the fundraising class.

If we're going to look below the level of Gov/Sen level, NC LtGov. Mark Robinson is one to watch. The national GOP base will LOVE the guy. He will do well in IA and SC, which is necessary for a grassroots campaign to catch enough fire to generate fundraising levels to compete on down the line.

DeSantis doesn't even have a legitimate opponent to contest him in either party in the absence of Trump.

Does't matter who the nominee is. The nominee will be a fascist, according to the media. .

DeSantis may be the most effective governor politically and practically I can recall. To not nominate him clearly and convincingly in 2024 is political malfeasance. His political instincts are spot on, and he has done a pretty flawless job running Florida from covid to Ian.

Can you fathom a Biden Desantis Presidential debate? It would be over faster than the Tyson Spinks matchup.

So you want a guy who lost the last election to give it one more college try? What makes you think it will be different this time?

Nah, nobody should be happy about this. Time for some new blood. If Trump truly was looking out for the country, he would gracefully bow out and endorse DeSantis. It will never happen, I know, which is why he will most likely be the nominee, and lose once more to whomever the Dems run.

Let's dispense with the re-treads.

100%. DeSantis may be the most effective governor and politician in my lifetime. Trump needs to go away, but I do not think that is possible. Ideally, he endorses DeSantis and goes to the golf course never to return.

People like the message not the messenger - America first, American jobs, less establishment overlords and more concern for average, working people. More focus on the homeland and less emphasis on a global cabal of billionaires with authoritarian instincts.

That is what energized the MAGA crowd. Trump was good because - like DeSantis and Lake and other newer Republicans - he did not just lie down and take the double-standard slander from the Democrats and the regime media. He fought back rather than slink away like Romney and other blue blood Republicans always tended to do.

DeSantis has all that ability and a proven track record with political instincts to match. Trump's biggest failure was unquestionable confidence in himself and a dearth of basic polity - he always took it to 11 unnecessarily, which turned off a lot of voters.

That was an epic Slay Queen.

She's smart, articulate, and not afraid to give it back to the regime media.

She's everything people loved about Trump but more articulate and less of a jack ass.

I watched debate. DeSantis doesn't take any ***** Crist bragged about when he was AG for FL. DeSantis said that was as a Republican, 6 party switches ago...

He also double downed on positions he was criticized about. Crist needed a knockout, he didn't get it.
