Besides. You guys were saying Obama already destroyed the republic. So Biden was too late!

Sadly, this is a serious problem in our country.

Delusional and distorted views of people.

If you think Biden is greater threat than a man who was going to personally lead an insurrection against democracy on January 6, then you've lost a grip on reality.

With all of the disasters the Biden administration has presided over.......with the people's rampant discontent ....and historically low poll numbers.

Do you really think the Democrats would have pulled such an outrageous stunt on an ex president of the United States ........ if there was ANY chance Dems would lose the November midterms ?

Think about it.

If Republicans win control of the house and senate.......republicans pick the various committee chairmanships .
It will be REPUBLICANS investigating the conduct of the DOJ and FBI.

There is zero chance Dem's will allow such a power loss........zero chance they will allow their actions to go public.

So if the voters are fed up with inflation , foreign policy mistakes and now the obvious misuse of the FBI......exactly how are the Dems going to win in November ? But they will most certainly 'win'...they have to....there is no going back on what they have just done.

And what does such a 'shocking victory' represent to the future of out democracy ?

Yes because major issues like Roe Vs Wade won't play a major roll in the possible victory for democrats. /s

It is you that has destroyed the republic in your own mind my man. If you convince yourself that there is no way the other side can win, and if they did they cheated, then you sir have killed the republic yourself.

Outside of your bubble there is another half of the country that has various issues they want addressed whether you agree with those issues or not. Just because they vote for a differing party than you due to those other issues doesn't mean that the election is a farce.

Not everyone sees the economic situation around them and idiotically blames the standing president for it all. Inflation is a global economic issue, not just an American issue. Oil prices are a global economic issue, not just an American issue. Get out of your bubble and you'll see that not everyone views the world like you do and you'll see how it's just possible for democrats to win without cheating, just as it is important for democrats to see that certain issues make it possible that republicans can win without cheating.

Get over the victim complex people.

I am not denying that people are hurting, but looking around the world shows you it's not an American issue but rather a global issue. Oil production isn't curtailed in the US, it's as high as it's ever been. Oil is a global commodity set by global markets, it is not a US centralized pricing. Learn how commodities work rather than listening to talking points. Even if we pumped twice as much as the US ever has, the oil would still be sold at global commodity price not at a cheaper price just because it was produced here. During 2020 the oil prices crashed which is why we saw sub $2 prices, but that's also why we saw the global oil producers during the middle of 2020 agreed to throttle production to rebalance the price of oil. Then the world opened back up after shutdowns and supply and demand shifted from high supply no demand to high demand with low supply. (Don't forget the Russian war as well) Oil supply/demand has started to balance back out to what it was pre-Covid and post the start of the Russian war.

My point is, I get wanting to point towards the top when things aren't going right, but it may not always be where blame needs to go. There are plenty of valid arguments against any president, but it's also important to differentiate what you want to be true versus what is true.

I appreciate the thoughtful and cogent post, and agree with you that the President is not to blame for every bad thing that happens during his administration. But the bottom line is, as the Chief Executive responsible for setting policy and instituting his vision for the country, like it or not he has to shoulder much of the blame. And while I agree with you that Biden is not solely responsible for everything that has occurred, respectfully, I think you downplay how much he actually is to blame.

Take oil for example. While you are correct that we are at or near capacity in our output, the President has nevertheless instituted policies that have undoubtedly contributed to soaring prices, and has prevented the construction of more refineries. By way of example, Biden's Interior Department blocked a proposal to open up more than one million acres of land in Alaska for oil and gas drilling. Not longer thereafter, Biden's Environmental Protection Agency blocked plans to expand an oil refinery in the US Virgin Islands. While there are but a few examples, in truth, there are many things Biden could have done, and still should do, to lower energy prices.

And it's not just oil. Take inflation as another example. Yes, you are correct - it's not just the U.S., but countries around the world that are struggling with inflation due to pandemic disruptions. Again, however, most economists agree that Biden's massive ($1.9 trillion) stimulus plan made the US's inflation problem more severe. The only disagreement is by how much. And while other countries have indeed seen inflation, inflation in the US stands out. From 2021 onward, "core inflation" (i.e. the prices of goods and services) has been significantly higher in our country than in other wealthy countries. Again, many economists attribute that to the massive stimulus Biden got passed after he took office.

And while I agree with you that Biden was not solely responsible for the economic issues discussed above, he played a much greater role in some of our other crises. Take the Southern border crises, for instance. The number of illegal immigrants that streamed into the country significantly increased because of Biden's refusal to enforce our immigration laws on the books. That number includes thousands of so-called amnesty seekers, who are generally released into the country with an order that they show up for a hearing in the distant futurean order that often goes ignored. The border crises is one that can be directly attributed to Biden's policies.

Biden has fully embraced identity politics in the federal bureaucracy. Many of his appointees have been selected based on their race, sex, LGBT status and so on, and not because they were the most qualified persons available. The damage that such policies inflict is probably best reflected in our military, which has been similarly politicized under the Biden administration. Its function is to be a lethal threat to foreign adversaries, not a political partisan or a social experiment in woke ideas. But that is what it has become under Biden.

And then of course we have his disastrous foreign policy. There is the "fall of Saigon" moment in Afghanistan, abandoning not only the Afghani people, but also our own citizens stranded there. He completely ignored his military advisors in pulling out so quickly. And then of course the bellicose rhetoric with Russia has put us closer to nuclear war than at any point since the 80's.

This isn't even an exhaustive list, but the damage wrought by Biden becomes quickly apparent even upon a cursory glance. Almost everything he's done has been a total disaster, which is why he is polling even less popular than Trump was. As someone who was a child during the Carter admin, he makes Carter look competent. Let's not absolve him of the blame he deserves merely because other factors may have also contributed to the issues discussed above. The President's job is to make peoples' lives better, and let's not sugarcoat it: he has failed miserably in that regard.
