Goes without saying a horrible tragedy that nobody should endure.

Quote:

A 22-year-old gunman opened fire in a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, killing five people and leaving more than two dozen injured before he was subdued by "heroic" patrons and arrested by police who were on the scene within minutes, authorities said Sunday.
Then come the knee-jerk reactions and politicization.

If you are against "family-friendly" draq queen shows, and biological men competing with women then you are an accomplice to these murders.

It's one of the worst aspects of modern corporate media.

To try and use dead people to frame your political/domestic enemies.

No matter how low down and dirty you think the media is….it's actually much worse.

If you disagree with this, then you are an accomplice to murder or something.

Another reason "hate crimes" is a bad idea. Killing a person is a crime of hate already. Murder is bad enough already. Don't muddy it with subjective laws that encourage overactive goobers to engage in mob speech and demagoguery.

Early information here in northern Colorado suggests that the murderer was himself gay .

Changed his name as a 16 year old when he lived in Texas …..due to on line bullying .

Over and over again......mentally ill individuals killing innocent people. .

Current Patient Rights Laws make it almost impossible to commit people against their will unless it can be proven that they are an IMMEDIATE threat to themselves or others.

Unless one is in an even more liberal state ( ex Hawaii ) where it has to be proven that the individual is a threat to himself AND others.

Even then the individual is only held for up to 72 hours for 'observation '. For any extension its necessary to go to court.

And just how many jurisdictions can AFFORD to go to court over and over again . How many can afford the extended hospital care ( if ordered ) ?

Multiple these realities with the number of mentally ill people wandering around .

Toss in the hard cold fact.........hard narcotics often cause PERMANENT BRAIN DAMADE.

So in the 2021 incident he is identified in police docs solely as "Mr", referred to himself as "your boy" in his video rant, regularly used the word "fa**ot" according to people interviewed...but apparently only now after he gets charged with hate crimes, his lawyers say he identifies as they/them (seemingly to insinuate that he didn't commit the crime due to prejudice or hate)...sounds legit.

Whatever you think about red flag laws, what's even the point of them if making a bomb threat and having an armed standoff with police isn't enough for them to kick in?

I agree people with mental problems should be able to get help. I dont need to remind you how many people are locked up for not choosing government approved drugs. Alcohol causes brain damage too.

The line between locking up people with mental health problems and allowing people that dont conform to live free is a delicate one.

It's not at all ' delicate ' to the families of these mentally ill.

Patient Rights Laws effectively prohibits most families from providing loved ones the help they so desperately need .

So the ill live in a shadow world of loneliness, despair and pain that few witness and fewer even care about . Many if not most cases brought on by the use of hard drugs .

And the only time people wake up even a little to this growing problem ……is when a massacre occurs .

Yet the inexperienced keep missing the real issue.

Patient Rights Laws

Meanwhile you want such hard drugs to be more readily accessible. Constantly advocating for the legalization of such narcotics.

You hit the nail on the head. This is the key to why the regime media's unserious attempts to politicize and tribalize every tragic event is so dangerous. The question in this and virtually every other mass killing is not whether Libs of Tik Tok sharing videos is the problem but why existing rules around red flag laws are being completely ignored. We do not need more laws, we need the laws we have enforced.

There are clear steps that need to be taken that have nothing to do with motive:
1. Red Flag laws need to be seriously enforced and law enforcement held accountable when they drop the ball. Rather than the FBI focusing on school parents and mythical white supremacy bogeymen, they need to be focusing on real threats and keeping guns out of the hands of our the mentally ill.
2. As we have noted around other instances, we need a serious discussion about re-visiting involuntary committal for serious mental illness. This would go a long way toward reducing violence and the homeless problem.

The dangers of politicizing and weaponizing federal law enforcement for political ends extends beyond just the actual threats to democracy. It has real world consequences when it conveniently ignores real threats because they do not fit the woke political profile.

It would not be surprising if this guy ends up being gay or trans or fish gender. Most of the mass attacks have come from left-wing extremists. I do not write that to make cheap political points but we need to start making policies and enforcing laws based on facts and reality and not tribal bogeymen unattached to the fact patterns.

What hateful, slanderous BS

Most Americans don't care about gay night clubs or what adults want to do. We are fine to ignore it.

The Left is the one that had to bring this into our schools and let men compete with women in sports.

To stand up to that is equal to "hate" is just disingenuous.

Glenn Greenwald did a great piece on his substack about the disinformation around the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando five years ago. It shows how much public opinion is driven by propagandists and journalism is a lost art among the regime media.
---
Liberal propagandists who pose as journalists treated this storyline as definitively proven. The massacre was "undeniably a homophobic hate crime," Jeet Heer wrote in The New Republic. "Let's say it plainly: This was a mass slaying aimed at LGBT people," Tim Teeman wrote in The Daily Beast. In USA Today, James S. Robbins speculated that Mateen was likely "trying to reconcile his inner feelings with his strongly homophobic Muslim culture." In the days following the killing spree, one writer in USA Today, Steph Solis, even accused those of questioning this narrative of propagating bigotry and exhibiting cruel indifference to gay suffering: "Those who insist the shooting was solely an Islamic terror attack try to erase the LGBT community from the narrative, causing only more pain by invalidating their experiences in this ordeal."

But journalism is supposed to function on evidence, not speculation, and there never was any evidence that supported the storyline that he was driven by hatred for LGBTs. The evidence that was available suggested the opposite.

On June 12, 2016, Mateen spent just over three hours in PULSE from the time he began slaughtering innocent people at roughly 2:00 a.m. until he was killed by a SWAT team at roughly 5:00 a.m. During that time, he repeatedly spoke to his captives about his motive, did the same with the police with whom he was negotiating, and discussed his cause with local media which he had called from inside the club. Mateen was remarkably consistent in what he said about his motivation. Over and over, he emphasized that his attack at PULSE was in retaliation for U.S. bombing campaigns in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. In his first call with 911 while inside PULSE, this is what he said about why he was killing people:
Quote:

Because you have to tell America to stop bombing Syria and Iraq. They are killing a lot of innocent people. What am I to do here when my people are getting killed over there. … You need to stop the U.S. airstrikes. They need to stop the U.S. airstrikes, OK? . … This went down, a lot of innocent women and children are getting killed in Syria and Iraq and Afghanistan, OK? … The airstrikes need to stop and stop collaborating with Russia. OK?
In the hours he spent surrounded by the gay people he was murdering, he never once uttered a homophobic syllable, instead always emphasizing his geo-political motive. Not a single survivor reported him saying anything derogatory about LGBTs or even anything that suggested he knew he was in a gay club. All said he spoke extensively about his vengeance on behalf of ISIS against U.S. bombing of innocent Muslims.

Mateen's postings on Facebook leading up to his attack all reflected the same motive. They were filled with rage about and vows of retaliation against U.S. bombing. Not a single post contained any references to LGBTs let alone anger or violence toward them. "You kill innocent women and children by doing U.S. airstrikes," Mateen wrote on Facebook in one of his last posts before attacking PULSE, adding: "Now taste the Islamic state vengeance."

My grandfather wanted to die on his ranch. He was in his ninties. He had lived alone for 20 years. He made some strange decisions. He refused to go to a resthome and didnt want to live with either of his 2 daughters (my mothet and aunt). He had sold most of his land, kept a large garden and relied on an old friend to get to church and town. Members of our family figured out a way to gain guardianship rights . They put him in a nice resthome in McGregor. He was there 2 days. He hated it. One nightbhe woke up and tried to walk out. The door was locked. The nurse refused to let him leave. He went back to his bed and died, probably crying.

Sometime freedom does need to be taken away from someone. Deciding the justifying reasons and the duration is a often a delicate reason. That why the laws have been on a pendulum. I agree sometimes people in very rare cases need to lose thier freedom. What you deem crazy may or may not be. Papas daughters tried to do what they thought was best based on what they wanted. Papa was not crazy and he was denied dying on his terms and his land

Our government bans some drugs and allows some drugs. Alcohol os just as bad as any of the others. I think freedom is a good thing.

While alcohol causes lots of problems (addiction, increased violence, early death from liver/heart disease) let's not pretend it's the same as other non-natural drugs.

We literally evolved up along side it as a species.

We have been consuming alcohol as long as we have been on this planet.

We have adapted to it in a way that would require tens of thousands of years to replicate with say opioids or LSD.

There's no death penalty in the state and he's going to already serve life in prison even without a hate crime charge. Feds won't touch death penalty because they're a bunch of libs.

There's literally no advantage for identification with non binary.

Also isn't claiming you're non binary enough to be non binary? If not, what's the criteria for non binary?

Close…

[It is commonly mistaken that Franklin once said, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Franklin apparently did not like beer very much and was much more of a wine lover. The quote originally came from a letter that Franklin wrote to his friend Andr Morellet while he was in France. He stated,

"Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, and which incorporates itself with the grapes to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy!"]
