This translation is more accurate and closer to the Greek than the one you used.

Paul is addressing Roman Christians and telling them the history of God with the Romans. Paul says in that the Romans should know about God because of nature. this history with God has been ignored by the pagan Romans; consequently, God gave them up to their passions after first saying that they worshiped reptiles and animals and such. These pagan temples to which Paul is referring or horrible places where men took advantage of boys sexually And prostitutes performed acts that were indeed homosexual behavior but God is condemning these as a part of a cult community. In these cultic acts the Romans are indeed to be condemned because they represent acts homosexual and heterosexual in a context that is did that is demeaning and dehumanizing to other human beings.
The act of homosexual behavior needs to be seen within this context of cultic worship that the Romans participated in and it was simply a part of Roman culture. Paul is trying to set a new standard to help the Romans understand that this sexual immorality is harmful to their relationships and their relationship to God.

Not sure if the still ask those questions. They also had questions about living in Africa (AIDS, maybe malaria) and being in Europe at certain times (mad cow disease).

Going back to those screening questions, all were about infection control and whether someone had a certain disease or was exposed to it.

I have never heard of anyone being refused the opportunity to donate blood because they were homosexual.

Those questions don't automatically disqualify a donor if there is a 'yes' answer.

For example, there is a question about cancer. As it happens, I have an incurable cancer but it does not affect my blood, so while I answer that question 'yes' about cancer, the center where I regularly donate knows the whole background and it's a non-issue.

Gays don't understand heterosexuality? Every gay person I know, except for one, dated someone of the other sex. Almost all of them married someone of the opposite sex and had children, then divorced in mid-life (or later) & went on to live in a gay enclave in a major urban area.
