Fentanyl is pouring across the border, but DEA agents are more interested in prowling airports to find law abiding citizens they can steal cash from.

Wow!!! Thanks for sharing.

This administration is so deeply corrupt I would not be surprised if the DEA is on the cartels' payrolls.

Cliff notes version so I don't have to watch a 10 minute, highly edited, one side of the story video?

Cliff Notes Version:

Government agents with guns are using civil asset forfeiture laws to make bank from innocent people. This is just one video. There are many others out there.

One of the toughest things for Foxnews Boomercons to get their heads around is that this isn't morning in America anymore. it has been decades since it has been. The institutions that they think are their allies are wearing the armbands and will be the tools of their persecution if they don't wake up.

Who has decided they are innocent? The people whose stuff was stolen saying they did nothing wrong? A court? So many details missing.

Lets start with Coffin v United States

Has anyone yet decided that you are innocent?

I'm just asking questions. I'm not watching a 10+ minute video that is clearly the side of the person who was approached. Why were they approached by DEA at an airport? Why was their stuff taken?

It really is simple. Provide links to provide more information not from the person who was stopped.

Because all I found when searching is that this practice has been ordered to stop and various sources disagreeing on how much was take. And one that claims airport employees were getting a cut. And others that say the people were mostly able to get their stuff back.

So yeah some links that provide more context than this one random video

Hopefully, Elon and Vivek will reduce our bureaucracy (50% would be great by me) and stop this kind of nonsense.

In the video you refuse to watch, guy buys last minute airline ticket, DEA is alerted. DEA demands to search guys bag, guy refuses based on 4th amendment rights. After the DEA causes the guy the miss his flight and after a while, guy let's DEA agent search bag. DEA finds nothing.

That is laughably incorrect. Civil forfeiture has been used for a long, long time. The idea that if is tied to modern politics in any way is hilarious and wrong. Boomers watching Fox have ignored it their entire lifetimes.

Also it rarely results in theft. Normally there is a good reason that law enforcement takes things from people. Once they realize the money is clean, they normally return it.

So they took nothing?

I refuse to watch a video that is clearly from the guys POV trying to make the agency look wrong and as if this is some widespread issue with no other facts than this one issue.

And I have better things to do with my 10 minutes.

Civil forfeiture is BS and should be abolished.
