No "walking skeletons" anywhere. All the folks here look pretty well fed.

Could Sam have been fleeced? Could all his posts about how everyone looked like they were holocaust survivors be a bunch of bull?

Remember when they pretend to care about peace that all they did today was either stay silent or moan about how many posts you made.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

Now that the UK is a Muslim country, Starmer pushing hard for his fellow Islamists in Gaza

Here is more from UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's statement. He says: "I am grateful for the tireless diplomatic efforts of Egypt, Qatar, Turkiye and the United States, supported by our regional partners, in securing this crucial first step. This agreement must now be implemented in full, without delay, and accompanied by the immediate lifting of all restrictions on life-saving humanitarian aid to Gaza.""We call on all parties to meet the commitments they have made, to end the war, and to build the foundations for a just and lasting end to the conflict and a sustainable path to a long-term peace. The UK will support these crucial immediate steps and the next stage of talks to ensure the full implementation of the peace plan."

Hamas has backed out of previous agreements; so many observers won't consider the deal done till the remaining LIVE
hostages are finally released.

A little bit of peace until the evil groups within Palestinian population start a new attack one day. They will never give up until one side is completely eradicated. Which will be the end times of course.

I don't have a lot of confidence that you can have a government not run by Hamas. It's a bit like removing the leader of a pack of gorillas and expecting the new leadership to change things

Remember who is the potential father of some of the Islamic terrorist groups, and he is from America. They would definitely have been much weaker without the worst POTUS in US history, Jimmy Carter

Initial support: As late as December 1977, Carter's administration publicly viewed Iran under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi as a key ally and "an island of stability" in the Middle East. The US relied on the Shah to protect its interests and counter Soviet influence in the region.

Emphasis on human rights: At the same time, Carter had made human rights a central pillar of his foreign policy. His administration pressed the Shah to liberalize, release political prisoners, and ease censorship. While the Shah made some concessions, these steps were seen by his opponents as a sign of weakness.

Ambiguous signals: The mixed messages from the US left the Shah and his generals confused. Hardliners in Iran's military wanted to crack down on protesters but held back due to pressure from the Carter administration. This allowed the opposition movement, led by Ayatollah Khomeini, to grow without decisive action to suppress it.

Decision against military intervention: As the revolution intensified in late 1978, the Carter administration did not offer a strong public statement of support for the Shah or military intervention to save his throne. By January 1979, the Shah had left Iran, and Khomeini returned to establish an Islamic Republic.

The fall of the Shah of Iran in 1979 directly led to the creation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a powerful state-sponsored military force often designated as a terrorist organization. The revolution also created new regional dynamics that spurred other groups to adopt terrorist tactics.

Organizations created after the 1979 revolution

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC): Established in May 1979 by Ayatollah Khomeini, the IRGC was formed by consolidating several Islamic militias to protect the new government and prevent a counter-coup by the former military. It is separate from the regular Iranian army and is accountable only to the Supreme Leader. The IRGC includes the elite Quds Force, a special operations unit responsible for unconventional warfare and for training and supporting foreign proxy militias.

Organizations that gained momentum or changed tactics

Hezbollah: After the Iranian Revolution, Iran began funding and training Shia groups abroad, viewing it as a religious duty to export the revolution. In the early 1980s, Iran sent IRGC troops to Lebanon to organize Shia militant groups, leading to the formation of Hezbollah, one of Iran's most powerful proxies.

Forqan Group: The Forqan Group was an extremist Islamist organization that committed acts of terrorism against prominent Mullahs immediately after the revolution, from 1979 to 1980. They acted urgently in opposition to Khomeini and his followers during the new political climate.

Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK): The MEK was founded before the revolution as a leftist group that opposed the Shah through guerrilla tactics. Though the MEK initially participated in the revolution, it fell out with Khomeini's new Islamic regime and turned its attacks on the new government in the early 1980s. After its leaders fled Iran, the MEK operated from Iraq during the Iran-Iraq War and continued to launch attacks against Iranian diplomatic sites.

Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran (KDP): Iran's Kurdish and Baluch minorities often chafe under the Persian-dominated government. The KDP, a Kurdish group that espoused a form of socialism and advocated for Kurdish rights, has been fighting against the Islamic Republic since 1979.

Jaish ul-Adl: This Sunni Baluchi insurgent group operates along Iran's border with Pakistan and has claimed responsibility for attacks against the IRGC and other Iranian targets. Its opposition to the Tehran government is rooted in historical tensions between Iran's Shi'ite majority and Sunni minorities.
