It certainly appears that Pelosi and the rest of old guard have lost their grip on the party. They rode the wave of popularity generated by the young congresswomen but like Agent Smith in the Matrix, they may have grown too big to control. The more radical left components of the party wont sit idly by while two old white men emerge as front-runners for the Dem nomination, speaking of course of Bernie and Biden.

To take the analogy to an absurd level, perhaps life will imitate fiction and the old guard Democrats will turn to Trump (the Neo figure, the One) to defeat the rogue agents on their behalf hoping he'll restore balance to the Matrix and instead he just blows the whole thing up to start over in a new utopian society.

Biden planned to run against Hillary. I know he went to one billionaire Democratic donor. The man told him he was already committed to Hillary and had been asked to give everything through her. This happened several times to Biden and he realized he would never generate the war chest needed to run. Hillary cut him off at the pass.

Like she did Sanders, Hillary made sure she'd have no competition. She was ready to be coronated. For those Democrats who hate Trump (all of them?), here's another reason to hate Hillary too.

The Clinton machine with a stronghold on the party cowed them to the sidelines, including Biden. Bernie was too naive to believe it, but she showed him he never had a chance at the nomination.

Biden and Sanders would be the oldest persons to become President if either won. Trump has that distinction now with his age being 70 at inauguration. Biden would be 78 and Sanders 79 in a 2021 inauguration.

I think right now Biden polls 8% ahead of Trump.

If he maintains a semblance of moderation, he could certainly win.

I'm wondering if the older powers that be in the DNC will ultimately rig things to get Biden the nomination, mainly because even as much of a goofball as he is, compared to any of their other candidates with a realistic shot at it, he at least doesn't come off as completely insane. In any event, whether it's him or one of the other dem clowns, their only hope at beating Trump (assuming their forthcoming all out efforts to cheat to the fullest extent possible aren't successful) is something like a complete economic collapse that includes a 1929 magnitude stock market crash - and nobody is predicting that.

This is more or less me as well. Trump sucks and the Dems, including Biden, suck more. Trump will do less damage than the Dems because he is not a socialist and he is not an open borders guy. Like the Dems, he has no plan to do anything other than make our deficit and debt problem worse. If there was a decent 3rd party candidate who could actually win, I would be a volunteer for their campaign starting yesterday.

Of course the typical Dem has to talk about race as usual because they have no other ideas.

Last election I would have:
1. Voted Biden over Trump
2. Stayed home and not voted

Didn't take long for the "Creepy Joe" comments to come from those who have no problem whatsoever with Donald Trump grabbing women by the *****.
