Officers go to his home to serve multiple outstanding felony warrants. Suspect gets into car and rams task force vehicles with his car. Suspect exits his car with a weapon. Officers shoot him down.

Now there are riots protesting the shooting by police.

What is the purpose of the riots? Why the anger towards law enforcement? Should police have handled differently? If so, how?

What you missed was that the car the guy rammed the task force vehicles with, was owned by the guy he murdered. The people rioting etc...don't care about that, all they care about is the fact the police killed a black man.

I havent seen any but speaking of riots, there have been some good ones here in Hong Kong. I involuntararily got swept into a crowd marching around the governmnet buildings and chanting. I dont know much Cantonese but there were some pissed off people. I saw clouds of teargas and ducked out to retreat to the nearest bar. Exciting times. Several MRT stations were shut down so I couldnt get back to my hotel.
I have found theres only two ways to go:
Living fast or dying slow.
I dont want to live forever.
But I will live while I'm here.

When travelling abroad and you see a large number of people in the streets acting insane, check the sports page for soccer scores.

That's a great tip for Europe. These were protesting China demanding more and more control.

I'll wager that between the time that guy was killed by the police and this Monday morning, 5 black men will kill 5 other black men in Memphis....

Methinks you're not allowing the Kenyan Muslim crack dealer enough credit for his diligence in the area!

In other news, Oberlin College loses a lawsuit with at least 33 million awarded to a bakery. Apparently, some black people were caught shoplifting. They pled guilty and apologized. But black activists at Oberlin College and with the help of the college itself thought it was ok to turn it into a racial issue with protesting and more. The college was sued and the bakery was awarded at least 33 million.

IMO Barrack Hussein Obama was not a practicing Muslim nor a crack dealer .

Though certainly a leftist of mediocre talents who hated Anglo culture .

Naw, just how he and his "boy" friends supported their habit during those years

This particular Muslim has never "paid his way"

Jury awarded more than the state allows. At the damages phase they heard about the endowment, the $70k tuition and put that with the school using it's leverage to quit buying the bakery's pizza dough and dropped the hammer to discourage future behavior like this. I know other schools got the message and will think twice about getting involved in identity activism. Student protests are fine, the school had no business getting involved.

She actually says that drug dealers can be "neighborhood heros". She says that we shouldn't judge this thug based upon the fact that he was a drug dealer and a drug user. W. T. F. ???

Memphis can be a pretty rough place, depending on where you are at.

I'll still never forget driving down Jackson to pick up an employee at 5:30 in the morning and seeing at least 500 heads in the shopping center parking lot doing nothing but tending to business and not shopping center business.

Other than Beall and a few other areas, Memphis can be rough.

Get your BBQ and head to Mississippi...Things get a lot more peaceful in a hurry.

Democrat rule has ruined it over decades perhaps?

I can't attest to that, but I do know there are many areas in Memphis that could be a potential problem.

I'm white and my girlfriend was black.

I promise you, I got to experience it all and politics were never discussed.

Bro, I get you, but your assumptions really derail your "message".

Perhaps, you ask? Perhaps pretty much covers anything.

Do you have some sort of insider knowledge on the happenings of Memphis?

If not, I wouldn't assume...I'm quite sure this isn't a new thing of any government rule, especially in Memphis.

I'd have to guess by your question, you haven't spent much time there...Could be wrong, but that's my educated guess.

Memphis has had it's problems for quite some time and that's decades, not years.

Yeah you're right I haven't spent much time in Memphis

Graceland, Riverboat and Beal a long time ago

Dad was in military so I was born there then we moved to Waco before I was 2

That's why I ask

There's huge black population there so I assumed democrat rule as inner city blacks miss the fact the democrat party keeps em down

Seems you've got experience and wanted to know about the city in which I happened to be born

Yeah, the Graceland days were over. We did a project 2 blocks from there. Pack your tools up when you go to lunch because they may not be there when you get back.

Even Riverboat was over.

Beal was still intact.

A lot of that city is fairly rough and some areas, very rough.

Suburbs are better, but I promise you when I was there, watch where you go and when you go there.

Not Elvis's Memphis anymore.

Ah, good stuff. I was just having fun with your phrasing. Seemed like this topic could use a little humor to lighten the mood.
