You knew this would happen and this is why they had to ram it through the House.
All they want to do is play games and politics now. After months of blocking the GOP from bringing witnesses & being able to do their job and Dems holding secret meetings, they are now complaining the Senate is being unfair? You can't make this up. It's the job of the HOUSE to bring witnesses, NOT the Senate.

Dems could care less, they just want to jam up the Senate so they can't pass anymore Judges, hurt Trump in the media and hurt the moderate GOP members in the next election. Dems are so corrupt it's frightening.

It's amusing to watch how transparently terrified the Senate GOP is of hearing from any first-hand witnesses, and yet Trump's dupes act like Dems are scared...

McConnell knows that nothing the proposed witnesses have to say will make his job of covering up Trump's wrongdoing any easier. Hearing from Parnas might make people wonder why Republicans keep getting caught taking Russian money for their campaigns, and that the accusations against Biden come from a Russian mobster, and ol' Mitch can't have that.

No one is scared - I'd love to hear from the GOP witnesses, we've already heard from the Dem witnesses. The reason they don't want it is because they are using this as a political scam, not a real impeachment hearing. They know they aren't going to win so they just want to hurt everyone politically.

What is funny is while Trump is overseas at DAVOS meeting w/ World Leaders and doing a round table w/ high level executives from some of the world's Top companies trying to help America Dems only play is to use the media to push lies and fake impeachment drama.

America is waking up, Dems don't know what to do in power except push lies and conspiracy theories and fake racism moving us closer and closer to socialism trying to make corporations and anyone that has earned money the enemy just to stay in power. It's sad. Trump is obviously not perfect but at least he's fighting for all of us. Even you Humck

Pretty sure they still called witnesses in that trial, which if you've forgotten came about because of acts committed after the appointment of a second Special Prosecutor to investigate Clinton played gotcha over an affair (and Trump still has the gall to cry about "witch-hunts"...). There is absolutely no justification whatsoever to not call fact witnesses like Giuliani/Pompeo/Mulvaney right now, unless the goal is a straight cover-up, which it is clear to see is exactly the plan.

Bonus points for Trump managing to bring that hypocritical scumbag Starr onto his team so we get to dredge up the Starr/Briles scandal in the national press again, that was truly a positive development /s.

Since we're here, why do you continue to ignore Parnas and Fruman funneling Russian money into GOP campaigns and Rudy Giuliani's pockets? Why do Russian spies seem to have such intimate access to Trump and his inner circle? Do you seriously not care at all that your grand Hunter/Joe Biden corruption narrative comes from someone Giuliani himself described publicly as a Russian mafia figure? Bet you ignore this paragraph, if not the whole comment.

You are an attorney so you should know the witnesses were supposed to be called in the actual impeachment hearings in the HOUSE. They didn't do this because they would have had to take them to court for executive privilege and would have LOST. Now they just want to play politics and say it's the GOP's fault when that is a 100% lie. But they know their followers don't have a clue how this works and they know the media will push their agenda so they get away w/ it.

The impeachment isn't even serious.

This is what happens when one political party is in shambles and massive debt: they resort to using impeachment to campaign for Presidency 11 months before an election because it's all they have left. They have no funds, no money and a losing narrative (globally).

Trump's approval rating has increased since this entire impeachment sham began.

The old guard thinks the same strategies and hit pieces they've been using for decades are going to take down Trump. It doesn't work anymore. You've exhausted your outrage resources Dems.

Democrats think Adam Schiff is their "savior". This is the same guy who lied about the steele dossier, claimed he has evidence of Russian collusion and that there was no FISA abuse. On every big "bombshell" story in the Trump era, Schiff has been on the lying side of it. GOOD LUCK LOl!

Yes or no: Giuliani's main partner in pushing this narrative about Biden that comes from Dmitry Firtash (Giuliani's own words about Firtash: "He is considered to be one of the close associates of [Semion] Mogilevich, who is the head of Russian organized crime, who is Putin's best friend") was recently indicted for funneling Russian money into GOP candidate's campaigns?

In case you're out of the loop, the answer is yes. Does this not raise any concerns for you?

Yes I saw it. Are you aware that ousting Shokin was the position of the US government (including GOP Senators), the EU, and the main domestic anti-corruption entity in Ukarine (the same one Lutsenko wanted Marie Yovanovitch removed for supporting because it was hampering his corruption)? Only now years after the fact does Shokin, who is widely viewed as corrupt himself, say it was about Biden's son (even though Hunter Biden just got there, and the acts being investigated were before his tenure as a board member). But the thing is, the investigation into Burisma's owner was stalled under Shokin and was revived after Shokin was removed.

Was watching this and had no clue that Schiff pushed a subpoena towards Bolton's #2. He was protected by Executive privilege so he had to hire a lawyer, went to court and asked the judge what he should do. Before the ruling Schiff & the House cancelled the Subpoena and said NEVERMIND, we promise not to issue another subpoena to him. Once again - a sham. And now they want the Senate to call those witnesses they knew they couldn't get to testify. It's all a fake for TV and the media to use to hurt Trump & the GOP.

Schiff is a coward and a liar and about as corrupt as they come. I'm glad he's getting exposed during this.

OK, I'll be the dumbest cluck on the forum concerning trials and such, but every trial I have ever seen or heard of they call witnesses during the actual trial. I also thought that the House proceedings were equivalent to a prosecutor building his case (or perhaps a grand jury) and then the Senate hears the case (trial). Where does it say you have to talk to all possible witnesses before you go to trial? Not doing so in the grand jury proceeding might not get you an indictment, but if you get one, I don't think that means you can't call new witnesses during the trial.

It is really simple, the Dems don't want to call witnesses that weaken their case.....but that is also the case with the Reps. Seems to me that what we, the public, should get is testimony from all, whether that means Trump is exposed to the point that not even Reps can vote acquittal, or it means that the Bidens go down with the sinking ship. But, shouldn't we hear all? I just don't get this argument that since certain people were not called to testify in the House, they can't be called to testify in the Senate.

If you think the whole thing is a sham, OK, but it sure makes Trump look guilty for the Reps to go to all extremes to try to not have persons that actually have some first-hand information testify. Perhaps the Dems didn't want to have a "fair" proceeding, but does that justify the Reps not having one either? Guess they aren't any better than the Dems in that respect. Is that the appearance you want to show?

And some people wonder why our "representative" have approval ratings in the dumps, whether R or D. And everybody knows that if the roles were reversed here, the actions of the two parties would also be reversed.

Like Pelosi said, with Trump "all roads lead to Putin". Tbh I wish it were not so, but we are way past the point of coincidence.

Again, the guys who worked with Giuliani on this Ukraine business (Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman) were indicted for funneling Russian money to Republican candidates' campaigns. The guy who concocted the Biden narrative (in exchange for not being extradited from his house-arrest in Vienna, where Giuliani has met with him multiple times) and employed Parnas/Fruman was described previously by Giuliani himself as being a senior figure in the Russian mafia. These aren't opinions, they are objective facts. The information is plain and easy to find, you just won't hear it from your usual Trump supporting propaganda sources.

Like I said, y'all always run and hide when the facts get brought up about Trump's dealings with Russia, that way you can just cover your eyes and pretend like reality doesn't exist.

This is another thing they could have taken to court to challenge, did they? NO. But now they are saying their own negligence (not really, they just know the GOP is right) is a reason the Senate should do the House's job.
