One of my best friends is my long time doctor .

Brilliant guy...Baylor grad.

We had dinner with him and his wife last night . Among other things he said that this C-19 panic is way over blown. To live your life normally with common sense precautions.

That the administration has done whatever was possible to do to contain it .

That the virus outbreak will continue to expand till summer and that any vaccine is several months to a year away .....best case .

I think he may be right, but it's too early to know if it is over blown. I'm not sure you can over blow an emergent zoonotic disease. Early on, you really don't know how they will progress in terms of virulence and morbidity. I think we'll learn more as it progresses in Italy. It will be interesting to see if a successful vaccine can be developed, and if it will mutate by the time a vaccine is available. Apparently there are two strains circulating now, L and S. Do you think Trump fully appreciates the potential problems this may cause?

Of course he does.

Your hatred of Trump doesn't alter the fact that he formed a task force to deal with the virus and restricted air travel from China ...back in January . Both actions were criticized at the time....remember ?

Of course no one knows if the virulence and morbidity will increase . In the 1918 pandemic the virus certainly did ...especially during the 2nd wave . Death rate jumped up dramatically.

And you most know multiple strains of a virus is not unheard of .

About 95% of the politicization of it is coming from folks like on this board, who range from saying none of this is real, it doesn't exist, it is made up to hurt Trump to ok its real but isn't a big deal hardy anyone has it and nature will kill it in a month or two and it is being lied about to hurt Trump.

What we know from past Coronaviruses is they will kill and you should be informed. It's foolish not to be. It's probable that you personally will never come into contact with COVID-19. I'm having to look at changes to reduce my risk or even more unforgivable transmitting to family who have underlying conditions.

My friend in 5 weeks we could be in the middle of a full on disaster.

We just had our first confirmed C19 case in Northern Colorado ......and our local Doctors clinic just informed the public NOT to go to them if you have respiratory problems .

And that is just the beginning of the medical shutdowns .

You might have 2 weeks before it gets really crazy .

Then I hope you will protect yourself .

How many people died from Ebola stateside? I remember how we sent troops and expertise overseas to stop Ebola in its tracks in Africa. It was a professional and coordinated response. As for how Obama left Trump with empty cupboards, it's just flat out untrue.

A. Have read DC's comments for years. We don't always agree but I certainly believe he is sincere . Found DC to be correct on many topics....probably a better average than myself .
B. On the other hand Brooks... you are prone to emotional hyperbole. Can't recall a single instance when you were 'right'.
C. I don't know anyone personally who is happy with the C virus as a way to attack the president . But have certainly seen examples of it on the internet and TV.
