They are correct. The GOP has played the voter suppression and gerrymandering game for a long time. Any change to this, and the balance will shift. We will enjoy an even fuller democracy, as more people's voices are heard through their votes!
In residency we referred to the VA as "A second chance to die for your country". That is how bad the care can be in those facilities.BellCountyBear said:
I kind of lump the USPS and the VA Healthcare System into the same bucket...grossly incompetent and unmotivated to change that.

Except what classifies as voter suppression is more a reflection of how lazy and entitled we have become. I saw someone complaining about the Georgia law that says it's a misdemeanor for third parties to give food or drink to people while in line to vote at a polling station. You'd think Jim Crow was reinstated with that one.
Why not just give them $5? Who do you think is handing out this food and drink and why? Who do you think is rounding up people in vans, feeding them then giving them strong hints on who to vote for? This is how city Aldermen, mayors, and Local politicians stay elected for years. It's soft corruption and illegal election influencing. You think it's just being friendly by passing out water. But yeah, you have 4 weeks to vote including weekends, but you were suppressed by not getting water from someone wearing a Vote Johnson badge while waiting in a line.Porteroso said:Imagine thinking it should be wrong to give voters water. Yeah its obvious at this point that the GOP wants to discourage minorities from voting. Removing polling stations in areas minorities are growing in %? But leaving them alone in white dominated areas? If you remove enough polling stations, lines get long enough that people get hungry, thirsty, late for work. Make it illegal for anyone to give out food or water, make sure election day isn't a holiday, and you probably avoid a fairly significant number of low income votes, which in the US means minority votes.
To a standing ovation, Texas AG Ken Paxton tells CPAC that Trump would not have won Texas if he hadn’t won 12 voter suppression lawsuits to stop mail-in ballots and drop boxes. pic.twitter.com/gy3hehDr2P
